Kalamunda Performing Arts Program

Students in the Kalamunda Performing Arts Program (KPA) specialise in drama, dance and music. KPA is a dynamic and innovative program which infuses all three art forms within a supportive and creative environment. Through the program KPA students build confidence, explore how to express themselves through the arts, learn to work collaboratively and are encouraged to challenge themselves as performing artists.

Students in the program share a passion for the arts and each individuals talents are recognised, nurtured and developed. The program is designed to extend students learning and equip them with the ideas, skills, processes in creative and critical thinking. It provides pathways leading to W.A.A.P.A, TAFE and University for those wishing to follow a rewarding arts career.

Performance is an important aspect of the program. Every year students perform at their annual KPA Production held in the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre (KPAC). This auditorium is a professional performing arts theatre which seats 257 audience members. Students may also have other opportunities to perform at events and festivals.

The KPA students develop skills through practical workshops and the opportunity to work with guest artists and industry professionals. They have community involvement through events like the Perth and International Arts Festival, where they view performances and may participate in workshops with the artists.
