Matthew 4:18-22 Jesus Calls His First Disciples
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him.
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
OUR PRAYER FOR THIS AFTERNOONLord,
We ask your blessing on our children as they begin their school journey. May they come to know you through the experiences they share with
their families, classmates and teachers within this community.
We ask your blessing on us as parents, teachers and staff. Be with us as together we do our best to guide and nurture our children to be good people who come to know the values of justice, service, compassion,
hope, celebration and respect. Amen.
Time for a quick chat and touch base.
Turn to the person either behind or beside you. Introduce yourself and maybe offer an elbow!
Introduce your child. How you are feeling about your child starting school.
Talk about the things you would really like to know about starting school.
Let’s take a minute or two.

He broke the bread, and their eyes were opened... "...childhood and children’s
relationships with God are valuable in themselves, and not simply as a prelude for what is to come. These relationships are already expressions of the eternal love of God present and at work in children’s hearts.”
