PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Dear Parents/Carers, The countdown to Christmas, the holidays and the hot weather has quickly come before us. With only two weeks of school left there is certainly lots to do. Attendance is extremely important over the last two weeks to ensure your child does not miss out on any end of year activities. A huge CONGRATULATIONS to all of the students who received an award at the Diamond Assembly on Monday and then went to Orange Adventure Playground as a special treat. It was a privilege to attend this excursion and see Kelso students representing our school with such pride. I received a comment about how well behaved and well-mannered our students were.

The Year 6 Farewell is on Wednesday 6th December in the bottom hall at 5:30pm.

Carols in the Courtyard takes place next Friday afternoon from 4:30pm. Come along for a great evening of singing Christmas Carols and entertainment from our talented children.

Reports go home to parent/carers next Friday 8th December. If you would like to make an appointment to discuss these with the class teacher please contact the school office.

Our ‘POP’ (Parent Online Payment) facility is now available for parents and carers to utilise. Full details of this service can be found on page 3 of this newsletter. Kind Regards,

Parents Online Payments

Parents & Carers can now make online payments to KPS! Payments can be made via computer, tablet or mobile phone using either a Debit, Visa or Mastercard and will be processed via a secure payment page hosted by Westpac. The payment page is accessed from the front page of the KPS website by selecting $ Make a payment, or you can be accessed via our SchoolStream app.

Items that can be paid include voluntary school contributions, excursions and sales to students. There is also a category called ‘Other’ this covers items not covered in the previous headings.

When you access the $ Make a payment you must enter:

-the students name

-class

-date of birth

-item name/reference/reason for payment

These details are entered each time you make a payment as student information is not held within the payment system. There is also the option to enter the Student Registration Number and Invoice number (these are not used at our school) please leave blank.

This is a secure payment system hosted by Westpac to ensure that your credit/debit card details are captured in a secure manner, these details are not passed back to the school.

Under payment options, you enter the activity or item for which you are paying. Write a title in the Payment Description that will enable the School Staff to match your payment with the school activity or item. You have the ability to check and change any details of the payment before the payment is processed. Receipts can be emailed and/or printed. Because a receipt has been issued from the website a further receipt will not be issued by the school. Furthermore, payments for each child need to be made separately; To make payments for another sibling/s you do this at the Online Payment Receipt stage, at the bottom of the page click the tab ‘make another payment’ and proceed to fill in details.

If payments are made before 6pm, details of the payments are passed to the school the next morning and will be matched against your child's account. If payments are made after 6pm the school cannot access them until 2 days later. Again, as a receipt has been issued from the website a further receipt will not be issued by the school.

Smart Start Program (Kinder Transition)

Children who will be commencing Kindergarten in 2018 need to be enrolled now.

If you have a child or know of a child who will begin their schooling in 2018 please collect an enrolment package from our school office. *Copies of the

students Birth Certificate,

Proof of Address and Immunisation Certificate are required to complete enrolments.

Kelso Public School Transition Program is continuing next term from Friday October 13th, 2017 .

The program will run each Friday fro 3 more weeks, from 9:15am - 11:00am.

The program is a wonderful learning time for you and your child. We will introduce you to

Kelso Public School and the learning environment of Kindergarten.

During the sessions your child will be happily engaged in learning activities with our Early Stage 1 teachers.

This experience will help your child to feel comfortable and familiar with our school context.

The weekly experience will assist your child to have a smooth and happy start to their schooling.

While your child is happily learning we ask that you remain at school and attend the parent information sessions .

We have devised a series of information sessions to support you and your child with smooth transition in to school .

This will enable you to become more familiar with Kelso Public School and its programs,

while meeting other parents in a relaxed social environment.
