Concert Update
Due to the renovations to Her Majesty’s Theatre our Haddon Primary School biennial concert will be held at Founders Theatre, Federation University, Mt Helen, on Thursday August 16 at 7pm. All classes will be involved in this wonderful event. The seating at Founders theatre has a full capacity of 700, therefore purchasing of tickets will be limited to 4 tickets per family, 2 tickets each for separated families. After one week of sales any unsold tickets will be opened up for sale. We understand that this may be disappointing for some families but believe this is the only fair way to ensure all families are able to attend to see their child/children on the stage. We will however, be offering a rehearsal ticket through the school @ $10 each where uncles, aunties, grand parents can come along and see the rehearsal of the performance during the day. More information about this will follow. Evening performance tickets will be $20 per seat and will go on sale at Monday, July 30 .More details regarding tickets, times of telephone and online sales will advertised as soon as arrangements with the theatre are finalised. No ticket sales through the school for the evening performance. Haddon Primary school students do not require a ticket as they will be back stage or supervised in a nearby location.
Student Supervision
We appear to have quite a few students arriving at school well before the supervision
times commences. Please be aware that no teacher is on duty supervising students
outside until 8:50am. Children have been told that if they arrive early they are to re-
main in the quiet area at the back of the school or inside the blue fence. No students
should be running and playing on the oval. Could I ask parents to remind their children
of this rule as the children can be at risk where they are not in sight.
School Council News
School Council is planning to purchase a Cubby house for our younger students. It will
be portable and will be located close to the Junior Playground. It will be a flat packed
cubby purchased from Phoenix College. We may need some willing helper putting the
flat pack together, as anyone who has purchased an IKEA flat pack would know!
Early Excursion 2/3C & 2/3M
There will be an excursion to ACMI in July for those students in the 2 / 3 Classrooms.
Notes have gone home and we will need to collect the money on the Monday or
Tuesday of the first week in term 3. Permission forms and payment MUST be returned
for the students to participate.
Term 3
We look forward to seeing everyone back
in term 3 and hope that you have a safe
and relaxing winter break. The happy
Jacks Holiday program will be running.
Please contact Nicole at Happy Jacks if you

All students are required at the back door of the theatre between 6:00pm and 6:15pm. The performance
commences 7:00pm sharp. A map of the location will be sent out to parents in future newsletters. Programs will be on sale in the foyer before the performance @ $2 each. We have been fortunate to secure Performing Arts graduate Mr Josh Sanders to assist as our creative director and have engaged Jake Farnsworth as choreographer for the Prep-4 classes and Sam Griffin , Soul Studio, to work with the 5/6 classes on their routines. Josh has worked in consultation with the teachers to select the music and rehearsals have commenced. Tricia Ryan is in charge of wardrobe and most costumes have been designed and created by Tricia.
A costume and information note will be sent home from each class next term outlining any additional clothing e.g. blue jeans for boys, suitable footwear, as well as the suggested hair styles of the times .

A photo day will take place prior to the concert where the children will dress in costume and have a
class and individual photo taken by photographer, Rebecca Nicolandos from bibophotography. Par-
ents will have the opportunity to purchase these prints after the performance. Rebecca is a parent at
HPS and has kindly offered her services free of charge so that the money raised from the sale of the pho-
tos will go towards covering the costs of the concert.
A $10 concert charged was placed on the booklist. This charge covered most of your child’s costume as
well as travel to the theatre for rehearsal. Some families have not paid this charge and it is now over
due, please send the $10 per student to the office as soon as possible. The whole school will travel to
the theatre for rehearsal during the day of August 16. Permission forms will be sent home in term 3 and
will need to be signed and returned to school by Monday August 13.
