RECRUITING NEW AGENTS IS A priority for United American and Globe Life of New York. When I see

those names listed each month on page four of Summit, I am energized. With 10,000 Seniors turning 65 every day in this country1, there is plenty of activity to keep those Agents busy and to help them create the success they want and deserve.

IGO E-APPAre your new Agents taking advantage of the e-App? With the hundreds of new Agents who have joined our team since January, many Agents are new to the resource. UA and Globe Life of New York Agents can use any available screen-sharing service, in conjunction with the iGO e-App, to assist customers when initiating the application process via the telephone (must be licensed and appointed in states where selling). Agents

must be certified to use the e-App, but don’t worry, we offer online on-demand webinars available to Agents at any time. Visit the General Agency websites and navigate to the e-App section.

BEYOND MEDICARE SUPPLEMENTSYou can offer other valuable products to both your Senior customers and those under 65. UA offers the Cash Benefit Cancer policy with issue ages 0 to 69 (0 to 64 in CA) and can be a great add-on for many younger Seniors. HealthGuard, UA’s critical illness policy, is available for issue ages 18-64; be sure customers understand benefits reduce by 50 percent when they hit 65. Finally, don’t forget about the Fundamental Life Series™. Please remember to adhere to all laws and regulations applicable to cross-selling Medicare Supplement sales in the states in which you sell.

A Cash Cancer or HealthGuard critical illness policy provides them with needed cash to deal with a cancer diagnosis, heart attack, or stroke. LEADSOnce you learn how our insurance products work, you should have an effective way to locate qualified prospects. There was a time in the past when the approach was done randomly, door-to-door. Today, a time-saving system that will drive sales to Seniors is learning how to effectively work leads.

Learn from our lead vendors. We have added several NEW resources for acquiring quality leads. Several of them are highlighted in this month’s Summit. Purchasing the type of lead you want to work from a proven LEAD provider is smart business.

Effective use of your time and resources will increase your income. Leads give you the opportunities to reach out to the type of prospect you want to sell to. A lead is information on how to locate a prospect that may develop into a sale/policyholder.

Approach prospects that need the insurance coverage you can provide. Leads will identify who these people are, helping you prepare in advance on the products you want to present.

If someone showed you a policy or a certificate of insurance, would you know which is which? Corrie Borde knows the difference. He reads them word for word. Corrie reads the policies or certificates to make sure his clients are getting exactly what they signed up for because to him, that’s his responsibility as he firmly believes that the carriers and recommendations that he represents can affect lives. Corrie is also big on relationship-building. He’s advised against the purchase of a medical policy because it wasn’t the right fit. And what happened? The client called back and asked about ancillary products and referred other clients to him. Corrie maintained an honest dialogue and it worked for him, eventually ending up with sales.
