Madonna del Monte Carmelo (Del Carmine)

Il 16 luglio ricorre una festa mariana molto importante nella Tradizione della Chiesa: la Madonna del Carmelo, una delle devozioni più antiche e più amate dalla cristi-anità, legata alla storia e ai valori spirituali dell’Ordine dei frati della Beata Vergine Maria del Monte Carmelo (Carmelitani). La festa liturgica fu istituita per com-memorare l’apparizione del 16 luglio 1251 a san Simone Stock, all’epoca priore generale dell’ordine carmelitano, durante la quale la Madonna gli consegnò uno scapolare (dal latino scapula, spalla) in tessuto, rivelandogli notevoli privilegi connessi al suo culto. Nel Primo Libro dei Re dell’Antico Testamento si rac-conta che il profeta Elia, che raccolse una comunità di uomini proprio sul monte Carmelo (in aramaico «giardino»), operò in difesa della purezza della fede in Dio, vincendo una sfida contro i sacerdoti del dio Baal. Qui, in seguito, si stabilirono delle comunità monastiche cristiane. I crociati, nell’XI secolo, trovarono in questo luogo dei religiosi, probabilmente di rito maronita, che si definivano eredi dei discepoli del profeta Elia e se-guivano la regola di san Basilio. Nel 1154 circa si ritirò sul monte il nobile francese Bertoldo, giunto in Palestina con il cugino Aimerio di Limoges, patriarca di Antiochia, e venne deciso di riunire gli eremiti a vita cenobitica. I religiosi edificarono una chiesetta in mezzo alle loro cel-le, dedicandola alla Vergine e presero il nome di Fratelli di Santa Maria del Monte Carmelo. Il Carmelo acquisì, in tal modo, i suoi due elementi caratterizzanti: il rifer-imento ad Elia ed il legame a Maria Santissima. Il Monte Carmelo, dove la Tradizione afferma che qui la sacra Famiglia sostò tornando dall’Egitto, è una catena montuosa, che si trova nell’Alta Galilea, una regione del-lo Stato di Israele e che si sviluppa in direzione nordo-vest-sudest da Haifa a Jenin. Fra il 1207 e il 1209, il pa-triarca latino di Gerusalemme (che allora aveva sede a San Giovanni d’Acri), Alberto di Vercelli, redasse per gli eremiti del Monte Carmelo i primi statuti (la cosiddetta regola primitiva o formula vitae). I Carmelitani non han-no mai riconosciuto a nessuno il titolo di fondatore, rimanendo fedeli al modello che vedeva nel profeta Elia uno dei padri della vita monastica. San Simone Stock, che propagò la devozione della Ma-donna del Carmelo e compose per Lei un bellissimo inno, il Flos Carmeli, la Madonna assicurò che a quanti si fossero spenti indossando lo scapolare sarebbero stati liberati dalle pene del Purgatorio, affermando: «Questo è il privilegio per te e per i tuoi: chiunque morirà rivesten-dolo, sarà salvo». La consacrazione alla Madonna, medi-ante lo scapolare, si traduce anzitutto nello sforzo di imi-tarla, almeno negli intenti, a fare ogni cosa come Lei l’avrebbe compiuta.

Letni strój na Mszę Świętą.

Czasami otrzymujemy pytania dotyczące odpowiedniego stroju w czasie Mszy św. w gorące dni lata. Oczywiście wiemy, że przychodząc wielbić Boga nie idziemy jak na basen. Niestety również szacunek do miejsca i wydarzenia zdaje się zanikać.

Jednak kiedy latem jest za gorąco na oficjalny ubiór. Najbezpieczniejszym rozwiązaniem jest dostosowanie się

do następujących wytycznych najważniejszych kościołów w Rzymie: krótkie spodenki (lub

spódnice) sięgające do kolan oraz zakryte raniona.
