AREA OF EXPERTISEJim Corbett’s 30-plus years of commercial real estate experience have provided him a broad base of skills through a diversity of projects, clients and work. Jim’s areas of focus include: the leasing and sale of office space, corporate real estate representation including strategy, implementation and the execution of single and multi-market assignments, as well as working with firms on their technology-related space needs including data and call centers and telecommunications facilities.

Jim regularly draws on his experiences as a Certified Property Manager, where he managed office, industrial, residential and retail properties, and on his experience as the Corporate Real Estate Officer for Household International’s Ohio Banking Operations. Jim’s work prior to his 1997 entry into brokerage, provided relevant experiences in corporate real estate, regional and international transaction management, site selection, strategic location analysis, development, investment analysis, operations, construction, physical plan and government/economic incentive negotiation.

assignments, including multi-market representations of Columbus, Ohio based corporations.

• Direct involvement in transactions in 14 different states and four international assignments in Europe and South America.

BUSINESS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Prior to joining Colliers International, Jim worked with Crawford Hoying and CB Richard Ellis. Jim’s education at The Ohio State University, where his major was Real Estate and Urban Analysis, was the foundation of his educational background, but now also includes coursework with The Institute of Real Estate Management, the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute and various other continuing education programs.

Jim’s experience with commercial real estate started in 1979 where he began his property management career. He has managed properties in nine different Midwest cities, oversaw day-to-day operations on properties producing multi-million dollar rent rolls. He is especially proud of his breadth of experience from managing properties as small as a single garage to as large as high-rise office buildings.

Because of his background in property management and maintenance, as well as construction, Jim is well-versed in many aspects of physical plant. He regularly uses this experience with assignments that involve unique infrastructure and controlled environment requirements.
