Topic of Learning: The Modern Era: Asia (continued)
Topic Summary: This week, we are wrapping up Chapter 12 of the Review Book. This
chapter explored Asia after WWII and decolonization. It also discussed the rise (& fall) of
Communism in that part of the world.
Assignments:
Assignment 1: TWO Castle Learning assignments for Chapter 12 (Sections 3 & 4)
All students who need to make up work for Chapters 11 or 12, this is the week to
get it done. Schoology and EdPuzzle have been reopened for all those
assignments. Check SchoolTool to see if you have any zeroes and get as many
assignments done as you can to eliminate those zeroes! Check my emails and
schoology to see how to complete each assignment.

Topic of Learning: Civil Rights Movement
Topic Summary: Leaders such as Malcolm X and organizations such as The Nation of
Islam began to challenge MLK’s non-violent methods and desire for integration with a call
for violent confrontation and separation of the races.

system. Members of the political parties work hard to get their candidate elected and their
issues discussed in congress. Voters can show support for political parties by voting in
elections.

Topic Summary: Economic stability is complicated because of the many factors
influencing it. Our Government and the Fed use different approaches to regulate and
stabilize the economy. The government uses Fiscal Policy and the Fed uses Monetary
Policy
Essential Questions: How does the government affect your economic life?
