It’s Not Too Late! We are still collecting 2013 pledge cards, and it’s not too late to turn yours in! If you have not already done so, please fill out the orange pledge card in the pew pocket and drop it in the offering plate, or in the church office. Thank you!

Attention Church Members and Friends - If you are utilizing our Electronic Funds Transfer for your giving and have changed the amount of your pledge, please be sure to fill out a new EFT form for 2013. Forms are available in the church office, or one can be mailed to you. Thinking about EFT? It’s easy to do! (If you have NOT changed your pledge amount, it is not necessary to fill out a new form.)

Tochimizolco Medical Mission - The 2013 Tochimizolco Medical Mission is scheduled for April 2nd - April 9th. For over 20 years, Daypring has joined Grace UMC from Olathe, Kansas in providing medical, dental and other health services in this small village in Central Mexico. We are looking for medical and dental professionals as well as hard working volunteers to assist. The work is hard, the living conditions are rustic, but the personal and spiritual rewards are huge. If you would like to learn more, contact Larry Butler, [email protected] or Bev Muller, [email protected].

Confirmation Is Coming: A Parent’s meeting where questions will be answered and information packets can be obtained will be held on Sunday, January 6 at 11:30AM, immediately following our church service. Information packets and registration forms are always available in the church office. Confirmation classes for youth in seventh grade and higher will begin on Sunday, January 13 at 1:30PM.

The Explorer’s Class a new series on “The Modern Family” is beginning today in the Explorer’s Class. This 3-week class will explore changes in the definition of family over the past decades and the affect they have had on the mainline denominations. Video clips from presentations at the annual meeting of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists will be shown and discussion will be held. Jane Baker, marriage and family therapist, will lead this series. 9:00 a.m. in the Adult Room.

The Connie Reading Circle will meet Thursday, January 10, at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Glendoris Cheek, (480) 785-2197. Kay Lewis will review One Simple Act, Discovering the Power of Generosity by Debbie Macomber, from the 2013 UMW Reading Program, Social Action category.

The Mary Martha Circle will meet Thursday, January 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Bev Haubrock, (480) 966-5435. Beth Cadman will present the program.

Singles at Dayspring - Singles, Etc. Lunches - Each Sunday after the second service, those who want to go out for lunch as a group meet at the restaurant listed below. If you attend first service, please join us! We gather around noon under the name “Dayspring”. Jan. 6 - Crackers & Co. - 1285 W. Elliot Rd., between Priest and Hardy, on the south side.

Start off the New Year with 50+ on January 18, 2013! Lunch will be served at 12 noon in the Shalimar Country Club restaurant, 2032 E. Golf Ave., Tempe. Dr. Phyllis Coston, retired professor at West Virginia Weslyan, will speak about current successful careers of her former students with learning disabilities. Dr. Coston has received national and state recognitions and awards as a leader in the teaching of reading and as a teacher in learning disability programs. Some of her stories will be shared with us. Stephen Ministers provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care and support to people experiencing grief, divorce, cancer, job loss, loneliness, disability, relocation, and other life difficulties.

Dayspring's Stephen Ministry is starting a new training class on Thursday January 17th. If you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, please attend an informational meeting today, January 6th in Room 112 following second service.
