All laptops and desktops during the fall semester of 2017 must be upgraded to Windows 10.
Back your information up using OneDrive, Google Docs, DropBox, external hard drives!!
Out with the old, in with the new!
Teachers will return their current HP
9470m during the 1st Semester in
exchange for a newly leased HP 840
laptop.

GradeSpeed - Enter grades and verify progress report/report card
PowerUp HUB LMS - Classes are automatically assigned according to Chancery records
GAFE (Google Apps for Education) - You will need to use your HISD email address for this to work (no personal accounts)

Policies and Mid-Year Upgrades
» Students who complete the laptop agreement form and pay the required $25 fee will receive.

» HISD/Bellaire HS is not responsible for any damages/theft of personal devices.
» Technology Support and Tech Room Hours will be posted outside of Room 220. Students must have a pass to come to the Tech Room!
Bellaire HS PowerUp Policies
» Accidental Damage is covered under the HISD/HP agreement. Students need to report damaged laptops to Room 220 immediately so we can assess and get them repaired.
» Negligent/Intentional Damage is not covered» Students/Parents may be held responsible repair costs.
» Lost/Stolen Laptops must be reported within 3 days of the incident!
» Do not hold laptops in your room or leave unattended laptops in the hallways/outside.
» Bring them to Room 220 or email/call us to pick them up.
Bellaire HS – Laptop Policies
» Student Laptops are to be kept in the HISD provided laptop case. Students who do not follow this policy may have their laptops taken to Room 220 until the case is presented.
» Students should bring laptops to class every period in order to allow teachers to utilize it in their classes.
» Students who regularly forget/cannot provide proof of having the laptop should be reported to Bellaire IT so we can make sure they have not lost it. If damaged, we can also get it fixed.
» We work with administration for students who truly cannot afford the $25 fee.

There will also be a new “slide-in” case that will fit much better into backpacks.

accounts. Also, never forward SPAM emails to anyone except the link below1. Delete the email from the Inbox and Deleted Items2. Forward the Email to [email protected]
• Use Common Sense– If anything seems questionable, it probably is SPAM
• Do you know the person?• Check Email Address from the sender (although some have had @houstonisd.org addresses)• Are there misspelled words or improper grammar?• Never click a link that asks you for any type of identification information.

• Real HISD Emails– HISD will normally include a template structure in their emails and there is a
“Clutter” feature that will sort potential spam/advertisements. You can also add Rules to sort emails. (example – newsletters or weekly emails from specific email addresses.

• What do I do if I am out of toner for my printer?– Email Mr. Scarrow or Mr. Paniagua your printer model number or the number
on the cartridge. We will do our best to keep a few of each on campus.– You may also map to one of the copy machines on campus and print there.
* Please do not print full class sets on the printers!
• What do I do if my projector bulb is burned out?– Email Mr. Scarrow or Mr. Paniagua the projector make or model. We will
place an order if we do not have the bulb in stock.
• What do I do if I have equipment that I want to get rid of?– Check with the Department Chair to approve the removal or transfer to
another department member.– Email Mr. Scarrow or Mr. Paniagua the type/model of equipment and post a
note on the equipment labeled PC-2.– DO NOT bring to Room 220!! DO NOT stick these items in the hallway!!!
