National Council for Technology and Training (NACTET) is an autonomous organization registeredunder Government of Kerala and recognized by Government of India NCT,New Delhi under Indian Trust act. Being a national development agency, NACTET serve the country as a non-proft, non-political and non-sectarian organization.

In India, we believe that education is the key to the task of nation-building. It is also a well-accepted fact that providing the right knowledge and skills to the youth can ensure the overall national progress and economic growth. NACTET endeavors to provide industry relevant education and well-crafted training and skill development programs in different technical areas through selected affiliates.

Technical and Vocational Education plays a vital role in human resource development of the country by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life. NACTET act to ensure that the marginalized sections of the society, including women, get adequate representation in technical and vocational courses. It can thus be hoped that NACTET will play a major role in improving the lives of the people of India.

A National Policy on Skill Development has been formulated by the Ministry of Labour & Employment. The objective is to create a workforce empowered with improved skills, knowledge and internationally recognized qualifications to gain access to decent employment and ensure India’s competitiveness in the dynamic Global Labour market. It aims at increase in productivity of workforce both in the organized and the unorganized sectors, seeking increased participation of youth, women, disabled and other disadvantaged sections and to synergize efforts of various sectors and reform the present system. Skill development policy will be an integral part of comprehensive economic, labor and social policies and programmes. It will promote excellence and will meet the requirements of knowledge economy.

To contribute to India and the World through excellence in technical & vocational education and training, to serve as a valuable resource for industry and society; and remain as a source of pride for all Indians.

To develop, conduct and coordinate projects & programs on skill and career development, provide sufficient training and proper certification to the employed/unemployed youth through our affiliates/authorized training centres for professional excellence and employment generation all over India.

The National Working Group on Vocationalisation Education (also known as the V.C. Kulandaiswamy Committee, 1985) reviewed the Vocational Education Programme (VEP) extensively and developed guidelines for the expansion of the programme.

The scheme is being implemented through the state governments/ Union Territory Administrations in the formal sector and nongovernment organizations (NGOs) in the non-formal sector. The main objectives of the scheme are to enhance individual employability, reduce the mismatch between demand and supply of skilled manpower and provide an alternative for those pursuing higher education without particular interest or purpose.

In the formal sector, the state governments implement the scheme at the +2 stage through more than 7000 schools. In the non-formal sector, the scheme provides assistance to NGOs for taking up innovative programmes for promotion of vocationalisation of education on a project basis.

More than 300 ATCs have already got registered under National Council for Technology and Training. NACTET certificates have got high credibility among employers in India and abroad especially in Middle East and other parts of the world. All certificates issued by NACTET can be attested by Ministry of External affairs-Govt. of India and by the embassies of almost all countries and authenticity of the certificate can be verified from the official website.

In India, around 1.2 million engineering diploma holders and graduates are getting passed out every year. Out of that only 22 % is getting the job related to what they studied. Since there is a gap between current professional education and industrial standards/needs, the passed outs are failed to fit for most of the job roles or positions. NACTET helps to align the academic education with the current/future needs of the industry by providing opportunities for our youth and maintaining strong, productive industries. In order to achieve this, NACTET is organizing various training/scholarship programs and projects associating with some of the well-known native and foreign organizations like QCI, MSME, ASNT, ISO etc.

Also we understand that technical and vocational education play a vital role in human resource development of the country by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life. Since 2013 onwards, NACTET is conducting technical and vocational education training in more than 20 sectors through our affiliates/ATCs allover India.

Every year NACTET is conducting a skill based scholarship program called MechPrize for mechanical/automobile/production engineering students from selected colleges in south India. In 2013, around 10,000 students from 108 colleges participated in the online/offline scholarship exam and one student from each college is selected for the scholarship. In 2014, the same has been conducted successfully in 150 colleges and now in 2016, number of participated colleges crossed 250. The scholarship winners are supported with free training and certification worth INR 30,000/- through our selected training centres. Post successful completions of the training, students are supported with job placement program.

In coming years, we are planning to extend the scholarship programs in various streams like Civil, Architecture, Electical etc. also and the discussions are in progress. One of our most prestigious upcoming projects, ITforALL aims to provide free computer education all over India especially in rural areas.

NACTET also planning to conduct job fairs titled Prayukti all over India across various locations. This benefits the job seekers to get the instant employment, industry exposure and also enable them to gain confidence. Employers gain access to a large number of candidates in one-step environment.

All orgainisations seeking NACTET affiliation mandated to follow the below procedures.

Step 1: Download application form from our official website (www.nactetindia.org).

Step 2: Fill the application form according to the guidelines mentioned in the application form.

Step 3: Submit filled application along with the required documents (mentioned in the checklist) by visiting our administrative office in person or send through courier to our office address.

Step 4: The submitted documents will be directed to our verification team. The verification team will scrutinize received documents along with duly filled application form.

Step 5: After completion of successful verification, you may need to pay inspection fee in the form of Cash/Cheque/DD in favour of NACTET, Trivandrum and our inspection team will visit your premise. Inspection team will cross check the correctness of information provided in the application. If any deviation found, NACTET may reject the application.

Step 6: After inspection, NACTET Board of directors will give temporary approval to the training centre and MOU will be prepared. ATC shall pay affiliation fee in the form of Cash/Cheque/DD in favour of National Council for Technology and Training, Trivandrum. MOU should be signed by both parties (authorized person from training Centre and NACTET official) and the original copy will be kept with NACTET.

On successful completion of these steps, you will be recognized as “Authorized Training Centre (ATC)” and the ATC certificate with ATC code and validity will be send to your office within 7 days.

pRoCEduRE

ATC should be properly registered under governing body.

ATC should have minimum of one year experience in conducting vocational training for the students who have completed at least matriculation level.

ATC shall be capable of enrolling at least 50 students in a year.

Teaching faculties must be properly qualified, professional and trained. Detailed bio-data of teaching staff should be submitted. Minimum qualification for teaching staff should be Diploma / Degree / Master Degree of concerned subject.

Student-faculty ratio shouldn’t be more than 20:1

Class room should have enough space, proper and adequate ventilation and lighting should be provided for theory and practical class rooms.

Proper Practical lab facility should be provided.

Number of students in each class room should not exceed 120.

Sufficient no of hours for theory and practical classes should be maintained in the institute.

Should have commitment for providing quality training to students.

Adequate toilet and urinal/water facilities should be provided.

EligibiliTy CRiTERiA

TERMs & CoNdiTioNs

The agreement validity with ATC shall be for a period of 1 year. Agreement should be renewed and renewal fee may applicable for the subsequent years. NACTET will take the decision on renewal by considering ATCs performance.

ATC shall run the business with NACTET for at least a period of one year

NACTET name and logo shall be used only for the NACTET approved courses.

A prior approval should be taken from NACTET for using NACTET name & logo for any advertisements.

The affiliation is non-transferable and should not share with any other institutions

Shifting of the existing institute premises should not be done without informing NACTET

Courses name and duration should not be changed by the institute without permission of NACTET

Student Assessment form to be submitted from all students to NACTET every year

Violation of any rules and regulations of NACTET may discontinue the ATC agreement without any prior notice.

CERTiFiCATE

NACTET course certificates are printed at high security press by using imported papers. Certificates have unique identification number, dynamic QR code, Void pantograph and a special kind of hologram which feature eight (8) security features to avoid duplication and tampering.
