1. Introduction

Island Murter is the largest and closest to the mainland island in the Adriatic, separated from

the mainland by narrow sea channel, through which the Tisno was built drawbridge length

about 12 meters. An asphalt road (6 kilometers) is connected to the Adriatic tourist road and

is 29 km away from Sibenik.

The oldest monument of the historical heritage of the island of Murter is built in the era of

Liburns. Old Liburni noticed the beauty of this place and there dropped anchor, and this is

testified by Liburnska Gradina on the hill Gradina between Betina and Murter. You can climb

to Gradina, it is easy to see because on top of the hill there is a large cross from recent era.

Through Christ which was located between Betina and Murter. The oldest settlements are

Jezera and Velo (Villa Magna, today's Murter) and younger Tisno and Betina. The earliest

evidence of historical heritage Tisno, you'll find in the bay Makirina. There is a Romanesque

church of St. Martin at the end of the 11th century. On the same site there are also Roman

villas, three-nave basilica and medieval graves. The largest gem of Betina proudly raised on a

hill, the baroque church with a bell tower, St. Francis of Assisi from 1601. Did you know that

have thrived in with particular emphasis on shipbuilding. Wooden Shipbuilding in Betina is

more than 260 years, and together with Korula,is the oldest on the Adriatic.

1. Kornati Islands

Part of the archipelago, roughly two-thirds of the land and the sea, is a national park.

From the Act introducing the highest level of protection have been omitted Yellow

and Sita with its islands, although geomorphological, geographically and culturally

belong to the Kornat group. Since the declaration of the national park, in 1980, on

the Kornati islands there have been scientific studies, especially those relating tonatural heritage. The studies have brought to light much information about the

geological, meteorological, geographical, biological and other characteristics of the

islands. Up to the present 537 plant species on land, 226 species of benthic algae,

around 850 species of living organisms in the sea, including 579 invertebrates, 160

species of fishes, one tortoise and three species of mammals, one of which - the

monk seal - probably forever lost.

Despite such large numbers, all agree that the Kornati are insufficiently explored. This

claim can be substantiated by a single fact. Scientists believe that the number of

living organisms in the sea, if they were investigated between 2500 and 3000. It also

has not been investigated and described anthropological heritage of the islands.

2. The beaches of the island of Murter

Although relatively small, the island Murter is abundant with various beaches situated innumerous picturesque bays along the entire coastline of the island. The most famous

beaches of Murter are located on the southern part of the island, facing the Kornati

archipelago and protected from the north wind. Some are shallow and sandy, some pebbled

and some of stoned plates for sunbathing.

3. Lighthouse Prinjak

Two hundred islands, islets and rocks as they were in the Murter archipelago would hardly

pass without signaling. The islet of Prisnjak is about three hundred meters from the western

coast of the island Murter. In 1886, a lighthouse was built as the sailors to easily landmark

during the nightly entrances into the Murter archipelago.

The lighthouse has a lovely stone terrace and only fifteen meters away from the beach and a

the second part of the islet, there are several beaches. The surrounding waters are very

shallow and during the summer is quite warm, so that the average temperature throughout

the year more than in other places in Dalmatia.

1. Polenta with cuttlefish

Ingredients:

1kg cuttlefish

6 red onion

Olive oil

Salt, pepper, garlic

30dkg polenta

1 tablespoon of fat

Clean cuttlefish and cut it into small cubes. Medium sized onions chop into small cubes, then burn

the olive oil. Add the squid and simmer with the addition of water about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Towards the end of cooking add salt, pepper, garlic and squid ink. Cook the polenta into the boiling

water and fat in a ratio of 1/3, add the cooked squid and stir well, add salt and pepper to taste and 1

tablespoon of fat.

2. Stew of monkfish

Ingredients:

1kg Monkfish

5 red onion

2 grain peperonchina

3dl water

1 peeled tomatoes

Parsley

Onions cut into strips and simmer on olive oil until golden-yellow color. Add 1 kg of monkfish, add

peperonchine, water and peeled tomato. Cook for 15 minutes. Finally add the parsley and cook until

1. Walking
