0.3 This specification is re!ateci to the requirements of official a:encies ir~this field and, therefore, is based on IXI)/hfED/TC/0179 ‘Specification forbandages for plaster of paris’ issued by the Nfinistry of Defcnce, Goverl~-ment of India.
0.4 For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of thisstandard is complied with, the final value, observed or caiculateci, express-ing the result of a test, shall be rounded off in accordance with IS :2- 1960*.TiI~ number of significant places retained in the rounded off value shouldbe the same as that of the specified value in this standard.
1. SCOPE
l.~ This standard prescribes the constructional det~ils and o(hcr rcquire,-ments of two varieties of handloom cotton cloth for plaster of paris ‘POP”bandages and cut bandages.
2. MANUFACTURE
2.1 Yarn — The yarn used in the manufacture of bandages shall I)emachine spun. .It should be reasonably free from defects and such thatthe bandages produced comply with the requirements of this standard.—.—

2.2 Cloth
2.2.1 The fabric shall be clean and reasonably free from weaving defects.
2.2.2 The fabric shall be bleached to a good white.
2.2.3 The fabric shall be dressed with starch and china clay.,FL. ,

3. CONSTRUCTIONAL PARTICULARS
3.1 The constructional particulars and other details of cotton cloth for‘ l)OP’ bandages are given in Table 1 for guidance of manufacturers.

5. PACKING
5.1 Unless otherwise specified, the bandage cloth shalI bc packed in balesas given in 5.1.1 to 5.1.5. Press packing of bales shall be c’arried outwherever, feasible, .
5.1.1 The bandage cloth suitably folded and placed o~~co~-er the otl~er,shall be wrapped with ttro layers of kraft paper ( ~~eIS : 1397- 1967* ) toform a packet.

b) One layer of jute cloth heavy cee ( see IS :3751- 1966$).
