And i you enjoy good ood, Washington, D.C.,is the place to be. Tere are hundreds o greatrestaurants oering cuisines rom all over: French,Italian, Spanish, Indian, Moroccan, Ethiopian—the list goes on and on.

But best o all is where you’ll actually live. We don’t house you in dormitories.

Instead, you’ll share an apartment with other Washington Center interns in either our newResidential and Academic Facility near Capitol

Hill, or in one o a ew careully selected buildingsin Northern Virginia or suburban Maryland.All acilities are convenient to a Metro station.So rather than living at arms-length rom the world, you’ll be right in it, amid the people andenergy that make Washington tick.

Your neighbors could be government ocials,artists or writers, or corporate leaders. Tat guysitting next to you on the Metro could bea high-powered policy maker or someone making a dierence in the nonprot world.

You’ll be in the heart o it, but you won’t be letotally on your own. Resident assistants, assignedto each building, are available should youneed assistance.

And on that rare occasion when you just might want to take a break rom D.C., the beacheso Maryland and Delaware, the Blue RidgeMountains, Williamsburg, Baltimore Harbor andthe cities o New York and Philadelphia are all justa ew hours away.

Academic SeminarsTe Washington Center oers several 1-to-2-week intensive learning seminars ocusedon topics ranging rom public policy to international aairs. Tese seminars provide

participants with the opportunity to learn in-depth rom expert speakers. Participantsalso gain understanding through small group discussions, experiential eld work, model

simulations, interviews, readings and written work. Te seminars include site visits togovernment agencies, embassies, think tanks, media companies and other infuentialorganizations. Trough this immersive learning experience, students get unique insight intothe inner workings o national and international institutions. Te academic seminars areopen to students rom the reshman to graduate level, as well as recent graduates and aculty.

By attending these seminars, students are able to get a better grasp on a broad range o topics while meeting other students who share the same interest. Tese programs are structured ina way that, through the student’s home institution, students will be able to receive academiccredit or their participation. Most academic institutions award anywhere rom two to ourcredits or completion o the academic components o these programs; however, studentsare not required to receive academic credit or these seminars.
