Reference: 1.3 Feedback from stakeholders: Students

Staff Assessment Report – October 2016

The IQAC has developed the student feedback format by the help of experts and senior

faculty of the college. The IQAC conducted an evaluation of teachers from students to evaluate

teachers on different issues of teaching and learning phenomena.

Every semester the students give their feedback manually in a specific format. It helps

the faculty and management to improve the teaching methodology in imparting the knowledge to

students. The first feedback assessment was conducted during odd semester in the month of

October 2016. The student’s feedback from UG & PG section of the college has been collected

and analysed.

The following table represents overall scores of the UG and PG teaching staff.

Score No. of Staff members % of feedback

80 and above 73 77.66

60 to 79 16 17.03

Below 60 05 05.31

The report represents the assessment of 94 staff and has been ranked with scores. 73 staff

members’ means 77.66 have been ranked with score more than 80. 16 staff members have

scored in between 60 to 80 which account 17.03%. Only 5.0 % of the staff has scored below 60.

IQAC has recommended the management and the principal to speak to the faculty scored less

than 80 score. Student response towards the assessment of the teaching and learning system of

the college is good. Further IQAC has initiated to organize the Faculty development programme

in the advanced topics introduced in the syllabus.

Page 36: Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Reports/6. AQAR-2016-17.pdf · 2019-02-25 · AQAR 2015-16, P. C. Jabin Science College, Autonomous, Hubballi-580031 Page 1 Internal Quality

issues of teaching and learning parameters. All the UG and PG students of B.Sc., BCA and M.Sc

students gave their feedback manually in a specific format developed by the IQAC. The

feedback analysis of the previous semesters was taken seriously by the management. The

Principal and management members spoke to the concerned faculty and convinced them to

elevate their academic strength. The impact of Faculty development programmes organized by

the departments is observed in the in even semesters. The following table shows the scores of

both the UG and PG teaching staff.

Score No. of Staff members % of feedback

80 and above 75 79.78

60 to 79 12 12.76

Below 60 7 7.46

The table shows that 75 faculty members (about 79.78% of the staff members) scored

more than 80. About 12.76% of the staff has scored more than 60. Remaining 7.46% of the staff
