When there is no specific note the functional description below is valid for both types.

InteliDrive Nano controller is equipped with a powerful graphic display showing icons and symbolswithout texts for its intuitive operation which sets together with high functionality new standards inengine control.

InteliDrive Nanocan operate an engine in MANual or AUTomatic modes.

The key feature of InteliDrive Nano is its easy-to-use operation and installation. Predefinedconfigurations of typical applications are available as well as user-defined configurations for specialapplications.

Basic information sheet ID-Nano Short Guide is included in each package.

    Conf igurabi l i ty

One of the key features of the controller is its high level of adaptability based on the needs of everyparticular application. The way, how to achieve this, is the configuration.

NOTE:Use DriveEditPC software to the read configuration from the controller or disk, view it, modify it and

write the configuration to controller or disk.

The firmware contains a number of binary inputs and outputs needed for all necessary functionsavailable in the firmware. However not all functions are required at the same time. Configuration taskis mapping of "logical" firmware inputs and outputs to the "physical" hardware input and outputterminals and some setpoints modification.

    Configuration parts:

    1. Mapping of logical binary and analog inputs (functions) to physical binary input terminals2. Mapping of logical binary outputs (functions) to physical binary output terminals3. Assigning sensor characteristics4. Selecting of ECU type if an ECU is connected

    5. Setpoints modification

The controller is delivered with a default configuration, which should suit to most standardapplications. This default configuration can be changed either directly from controllers front panel orby using PC with DriveEdit software.

NOTE:For connection to PC please use the USB interface. Controller can be powered directly from USB

communication port. In this case LCD backlight is turned off and all outputs are open.

Configuration of InteliDrive Nano controller can be stored in an ain filefor later use or for itsmodification in DriveEdit PC software. Such file is called archive. The archive contains full image ofthe controller at the moment of saving. Besides the configuration there is also recorded actualadjustment of all setpoints as well as all measured values and history logs.

The archive can be simply used for preparing controllers with identical configuration and settings.

    Firmware upd ate

Two steps are necessary for firmware update:

    Firmware = dnf file update

Configuration file = and file update

In case of more controllers reprogramming there is effective method:

    1. Open corresponding and configuration file

    2. Select corresponding dnf file

    3. Click Right mouse button on ID-Nanoicon and then click Write firmware to controller and Upload archive to controller.

    Wir ing hints

To ensure proper function:Use min. power supply cable of 1mm

    2

Maximum continuous DC power supply voltage is 36 VDC. Maximum allowable power supply voltageis 39VDC. The InteliDrive Nano power supply terminals are protected against large pulse powerdisturbances. When there is a potential risk of the controller being subjected to conditions outside itscapabilities an outside protection devise should be used.

For the connections with 12VDC power supply, the InteliDrive Nano includes internal capacitors thatallow the controller to continue operation during cranking if the battery voltage dip occurs. If thevoltage before drop is 10V, after 100ms the voltage recovers to 5 V, the controller continues operating.During this voltage drop the controller screen backlight can turn off and on but the controller keepsoperating.

Power supply fusingController should never be connected directly to the starting battery. App 6 amp fuse should beconnected in-line with the battery positive terminal to the controller.Fuse value and type depends on number of connected devices and wire length.Recommended fuse (not fast) type - T1A. Not fast due to internal capacitors charging duringpower up.

The capacitor size should be 5 000 F towithstand 150ms voltage dip under followingconditions:Voltage before the drop is 12V, after 150ms thevoltage recovers to min. allowed voltage, i.e. 8V.

    Binary output thermal limitation

Time when both BO1 and BO2 relay outputs are loaded 10A is limited up to 15 minutes.

Unlimited time for BO1 and BO2 load is up to 5A.

Analog inputsAnalog inputs AIN1, AIN2, AIN3 are designed for resistive automotive type sensors like VDO orDATCON. The sensors are connected either by one wire (the second pole is sensor body) or by twowires.

In case of grounded sensors connect the terminal T10 to the engine body as near from thesensors as possible.

In case of isolated sensors connect the terminal T10 to the negative power supply terminal of thecontroller as well as the opposite poles of the sensors.

    Analog outputs

Both outputs AO1 and AO2 work in range 0 to 5VDC (10mA max load).

T29 - AO1AO1 is interface to adjust requested speed of speed governor (of mechanical engine). AO1 is fixprogrammed to follow ID-Nano Speed request value. AO1 is configurable by setpoints R07-SpeedReq0% and R08-SpeedReq100% as linear (two point) characteristics.

    Example:

    In case the R07 = 800RPM; R08 = 2200RPM the AO1 = 0VDC when Speed request = 800RPM andAO1 = 5VDC when Speed request = 2200RPM.

T30-AO2AO2 is interface for connection of external gauge indicating controlled value. AO2 is fix programmedto follow the T22-AI4-Ctrl Loop AIN. It is configurable by setpoints R13-LoopReq 0%, R14-LoopReq100% as linear characteristics. The R13 and R14 setting depends on T22-AI4 User curveresolution.

    Example:In case the AI4 User curve converts 20mA to e.g. 10,0 Bars (i.e. with one decimal point) and R13 = 20

    and R14=80 the AO2 = 0VDC for 2,0 Bar and 5VDC for 8,0 Bars.
