Integration courses
If you have immigrated to Germany, an integration course is the best way to learn German quickly and get your bea-rings in German society. As a rule, an integration course lasts 7 months and usually takes place on a half-day basis from Monday to Friday. It consists of a German course amounting to 600 teaching hours (900 teaching hours in the case of the special course types), followed by an orientation course of 100 teaching hours. The orientation course provides more information about German society, covering topics including culture, values, the legal system and history. You can choose the language school where you would like to attend the integration course yourself. Providers of integration courses in the District of Hohenlohe are listed in the inside section.
Which language level does the inte-gration course allow me to attain?
Your language level will be assessed via a placement test before the start of the integration course. This may allow you to skip one or more course sections. At the end of the integration course, you will receive a certificate confirming that you have learned German to level B1 or A2, depending on the test results. If you fail to pass level B1, you may repeat 300 teaching hours upon application.
Special courses
The literacy course is aimed at those who are unable to read and write, or who are unfamiliar with Latin charac-ters. The youth integration course is designed specifically for young adults (up to the age of 27), and provides them with support as they enter the German education system or labor market. Among other things, the course features professional orientation and internships. Both course types last around 10 months.
