This Party Packet will help guide you with some of the pre-
party to do items. Please take a moment to read through the
packet and then call me with any questions.

Instructions For Your First Party

Send Your Text Invite: Bridgett’s office will text you an invite that you can text to your friends. Send the
invite to each friend individually – do not send a group text. Simply text the
picture with the message, “Hey Suzie! I’m super excited about my Mary Kay
debut party, and I’m really hoping that you can make it! I need to practice on 30
faces and it would mean the world to mean if you could be there. Will you come
to support me?”
*If she says yes – Yay! Thank you SO MUCH! This means the world to me! What is
your address? I’m going to send you an official invite.
*If she can’t make it – Ok no problem! I understand! I could still use your help with
my 30 practice faces. Is it ok if I call you later to see if we could get together for
a real quick facial?

Send Thank You Cards: Send handwritten thank you notes via SNAIL MAIL to all those who said they are
coming. The handwritten note is so powerful. Please don’t rely on text, email, or
Facebook for this. Send a note that says, “I’m super excited to see you on
Saturday, March 14th at 2pm for my Mary Kay party. You have no idea how much
this means to me! I appreciate you more than you know. Love, Bridgett”
(Hand-write in red ink, “I’m counting on you to come!”) It’s the little things that
make a big difference when it comes to attendance.

Pack For Success: See the attached sheet to pack your Travel Roll-Up Bag and what supplies to
have for each guest.

Additional Items Needed: a) A roll of Raffle tickets – these are available at Wal-Mart
b) Cotton Rounds (not cotton balls – this is important)
c) Cosmetic wedges
d) Party Book-Included in Welcome Packet or purchase from Bridgett
e) Marketing Bag and Queen Bee Sheets (attached)

Have Your Datebook Ready: The main goal of this party is to book future appointments. Grab your
datebook and highlight in pink the days you wish to hold your
appointments. This will help with scheduling the bookings.

Find a Helper: Find a sister consultant, one of your team members, or a prospective team
member to help you at your party. She will help dip mascara wands, write up
sales tickets, fill orders, etc. This will help things run more smoothly.
Six Most Important Things For
Your First Party
****YOUR Job Responsibility AT your Debut/Skin care class***** New Consultant has 2 jobs:
1). Have your date book ready with dates READY for your color appointments
2). Listen & Observe!!! TAKE NOTES!! THIS IS FREE TRAINING!
The Day of the Party: Your recruiter and/or Director will be at your party 1 hour prior to the start to help you
set up your table and get everything ready.
Please have a friend or family member to run the kitchen and handle the food. You’re
not making $ in the kitchen this day therefore you will NOT be in the kitchen that day!
It is critical that you are present for every single part of the party so that you don’t miss
any critical parts.
Keep refreshments simple… a drink; cookies or finger foods are best. You may have
drinks out as the guests arrive, but please do not put out the food until we are finished.
This is VERY important.
YOU are going to do GREAT!!!!! RELAX and ENJOY YOURSELF… MARY KAY often said “You
can do everything right with the wrong attitude and fail to succeed, but you can do
everything wrong with the right attitude and succeed beyond your dreams!"
Oh and just one more thing…

Organize Your Foundations
Using the attached Conversion & Undertones chart, label the foundation on the cap & on back of tubes. (Buy stickers from Wal-Mart in the business section). Pink = pink undertone, Yellow = yellow undertone, Green = olive undertone, Orange = golden orange undertone. Label your tubes in 2 places: on the end of the cap and on the back of the tube as pictured. If your caps get separated from your tubes, you will be able to match them up again. Order 3 mesh bags from Mary Kay to organize your tubes by Ivory, Beige & Bronze in TimeWise Matte-Wear Liquid Foundation. Temporarily you can use ziploc bags to organize.

Select the Correct Foundation Color for your Customer
By looking at your customer, guess if she is ivory, beige or bronze. Pick the 2 mesh bags that most closely corresponds to your guess. This will eliminate 1 bag which you can set aside. Ask customer if she burns easily or tans easily. Pink undertones burn easily, yellowundertones burn then tan, and olive undertones tan. Choose one color family and do a stripe testby rubbing the foundations in on her jawline as shown in the picture below. The shade that disappearsis the correct color. You can demo the liquid foundation and use your Total Conversion Chart to determine the comparable color in a different type of foundation she is interested in.
Tip: Use the undertone chart to determine one shade lighter or darker. You want to choose one from the same undertone family. One shade darker than Ivory 7 would be Beige 3. They are both pink undertones.
