Installing Server Program To Your Desktop

1. Download “FalconMFDServer.rar” file and extract anywhere (preferrably to a folder on your desktop). 2. 5. Follow the steps below.

Step 1: Run Falcon BMS. Select “Cockpit Display Extraction”.

Step 2: Then “Uncheck” all boxes by selecting the appropriate windows.

Step 3: Save & Close and Restart your computer.

Step 4: After restart, “Check” all boxes as indicated below.

Step 5: Open file (…\Falcon BMS 4.32\Use r\Config\falcon bms.cfg) with notepad (or similiar program). Find “set g_bExportRTTTextures 0” and change to “set g_bExportRTTTextures 1”.

Step 6: Select the “Start / Stop” button to start the server. You can also use this button to “Stop” the server.

Step 7: If you are starting the program for the first time, you will need to load your key file. Select “Find Key File” button and browse for the key file you want to use. (Note : Key file path (…\Falcon BMS 4.32\User\Config\...)

Step 8: If you have unassigned Key(s) , you will get a message when you start the server. If this happens, open Falcon BMS , go to “Settings” and declare those keys.

Installing & Setting Up Android Tablet App To Your Tablet

Step 9 : Download “FalconMFD.apk” and install it on your tablet. If you already have an older version of “FalonMFD.apk” installed, you must uninstall it first before installing latest version.

Step 9-a : You can switch “MFD / ICP” modes from here.

Step 9-b : You can use menu to open panel.

To use these knobs and switches, just swipe using your finger.

Step 9-c : When you press the “Settings” button and you will see the following:

After you enter your “Server IP address”, select the “Save” button and Restart your Falcon MFD program on your tablet.

Establishing Connections Between The Server and Tablet

Step 10: When you start Falcon MFD on your tablet, you will see “Green” buttons light up on the Falcon Server if connection is established correctly as shown above.

Step 11: Select the “Testing Part” button, and you will see the following:

Step 11-a: Enter your Tablet’s IP address here. You can find your Tablet’s IP address on Step 9, Point 9-c-i.

Step 11-b: Important, start Falcon BMS and go into the cockpit first. After entering the cockpit, select the “Start Reading Falcon MFD” button. You should see the following screen:

Step 11-c: You can send message to Falcon MFD by selecting this button. If Falcon MFD is receiving a mesage from Falcon MFD Server a message will pop-ups.

Step 11-d: You can send image to Falcon MFD by selecting this button. If Falcon MFD is receiving a mesage from Falcon MFD Server, Left MFD and Right MFD changes views.

Simple Instructions for Running Falcon MFD for Android – Single Tablet Note: The following instructions are applicable once you have completed the initial installs and testing. Step 1: Open the “Server” on your desktop. Step 2: Close the initial box that pops up. Server is now active and running. Step 3: Open the “MFD App” on the tablet. Step 4: Select “Settings” and change/input “Server IP Address”. IP Address can be found in the “Server” on your desktop. Step 5: Verify “Tablet/Android IP Address” is correct. If not, change to correct IP address. Step 6: Select the “Save” button to save changes. Step 7: Close the “MFD App” on your tablet and restart the “MFD App”. Step 8: Once you open the “App” for the second time, you will see the green lights on the “Server”. Step 9: Start Falcon BMS and jump into the cockpit. If all is working well, you should see all the relevent data and images on the tablet. Step 10: When you are done flying, close the “App” on your tablet. On the “Server”, select the “Stop” button and then close the “Server”. Note: I would highly recommend the following:

- To ensure all the buttons and switches are working properly on the App, test each one and make sure the correct keyfile command shows on the Server “incoming msg list”.

- If not, make the appropriate changes to your keyfile (thru BMS or other means) and reload the keyfile in the “Server”. Keep doing this until you are statisfied that all buttons and switches are working properly.

- Final test would be when you get in the cockpit, check all the switches and buttons on the App to see if they are working properly in the cockpit.

Simple Instructions for Running Falcon MFD for Android – Two Tablets Note: The following instructions are applicable once you have completed the initial installs and testing. Step 6: Close the “MFD App” on your tablet and restart the “MFD App”.

Step 7: Do steps 3 thru 6 above for the second tablet. Step 8: On first tablet, open the “MFD App”. Select the function(s) you want to run on this tablet. For example, if you want to run ICP/DED, Flight Data, and Flight Nav Data on this tablet, you would push the following button(s): “Start on ICP-DED Mode”, “Start Flight Data”, and “Start Flight Nav Data”. Note: You cannot have the same function(s) running on both tablets. Step 9: Once all applicable function(s) are selected, close the “Selection Menu” box. Tablet is now active and running. You should see the applicable green light(s) on the Server. Step 10: On second tablet, open the “MFD App”. Select the function(s) you want to run on this tablet. For example, if you want to run MFDs on this tablet, you would push the following button(s): “Start on MFDs Mode”. Note: You cannot have the same function(s) running on both tablets. Step 11: Once all applicable function(s) are selected, close the “Selection Menu” box. Tablet is now active and running. You should see the applicable green light(s) on the Server. Step 12: Start Falcon BMS and jump into the cockpit. If all is working well, you should see all the relevent data and images on the tablet. Step 13: When you are done flying, close the “MFD App” on your tablets. On the “Server”, select the “Stop” button and then close the “Server”. Note: I would highly recommend the following:
