Industrial 3D Measuring Techniques in Injection Moulding Process ChainsThe ATOS 3D digitizer is a flexible, portable optical measuring device. Instead of sampling individual points, the entire component surface geometry is acquired using a high-resolution point cloud. Regardless of ob-ject size and complexity, ATOS generates precise 3D coordinates for surface comparison to CAD data, for section-based and material thickness analyses, and delivers complete measuring and inspection reports.

GOM UK WorkshopThe GOM UK Workshop is an informative event, with user lectures as well as the presentation of current technologies and solutions in optical 3D coordinate measurement techniques.

In this workshop, participants from the injection moulding field will learn about the time savings and improvements in quality that optical coordi-nate measurement techniques provide to modern injection moulding process chains.

• Exchange of experiences with users• Reports from the field• Demonstration of the current measuring systems• Evaluation and measurement report creation• Scanning and touch probing with a single system• Automation

In live demonstrations, the GOM team will present the latest measuring techniques as well as measurement and evaluation software.

The ATOS 3D digitizer provides full measurement of prototypes, initial samples, injection-moulded parts, blow-moulded parts, cast foam parts, and tools. The fast surface scanner is combined with an optically-gui-ded touch probe to provide complete data sets. Both the measurement and the complete evaluation can be automated for quality assurance associated with serial production.
