    CADET NOTIFICATION

    CADET: ______________________

    Objective: To see as much of New Zealand as possible while interacting with cadet

    and regular force units from around the country.

    Dates: Inclusive from 11 JUL 13 to 21 JUL 13. Cadets will be required to take 2days off school (THU 11 & FRI 12 JUL). However, cadets will be home1 week prior to school re-commencing for term 3.

    Costs: We have estimated an individual cost to the cadet of $220, in addition toorganised fundraising events. Cadet / family attendance at fundraisingevents will be closely monitored and continual absence may result in thecadets removal from the trip. The tour cost will include the following:

    Accommodation Meals Transport costs

    (Including flights to/from Christchurch)

    Entry to planned activities (detailed below)There are two options in which you can pay for the tour:

    1. Regular installments which can be organized with theUnit Support Treasurer on a Monday night.

    2. Full payment of before a date yet to be confirmed.Due to the nature of this tour, keeping in mind flights, bus andaccommodation bookings, installment payments will not be refunded ifyou decide to pull out, after making the commitment to attend.

    It is suggested that cadets have around $50 for incidentals such assouvenirs, snacks, film etc.

    Activities: At this stage, it is not possible to have a finalised itinerary, but below isthe base plan. A finalised itinerary will be published in the comingweeks.

    Opportunities may exist to do other activities as time permits, and thosewishing to, need to apply in writing. Visiting of relatives, friends etc. willbe at the discretion of the Officer Commanding, and need to be expressed

    on the commitment form.

    Accommodation: Accommodation will be on New Zealand Defence Force Baseswhere possible, then using ATC Units and motels / backpackers.

    Bearing: While on base, cadets are representing 4 Squadron and the Air TrainingCorps. Therefore behavior is to be appropriate, and in accordance with theNew Zealand Cadet Forces Policy and Administration Manual (PAM).Cadets who fail to comply with the PAM will be referred to theCommanding Officer of the tour, and if further action is required, cadets

    will be returned to Auckland AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE by anycommercial means available.

    Equipment: All equipment should be named clearly. Cadets will have laundryfacilities available to them at some points of the tour; however they shouldplan to go 2-3 days without having to do any laundry.

    Valuable items such as mobile phones, CD players, cameras etc. arecarried AT CADETS RISK, the officers and staff will not be responsiblefor these.

    Nb. Baggage will be restricted to a large sports bag + uniform bag. Thisis due to restricted space on board the bus.

    Staff: The tour will be staffed by Officer Staff from the unit, in addition to afemale chaperone, who will accompany us for the duration of the tour.

    Regular newsletters and Facebook** page will be provided to tourparticipants with additions / amendments / deletions to the trip plan.Group meetings will also be scheduled as required.
