Continued development of the Orion Project partnerships
Appointment of the CIO/VP for coordination of IT Division
Switched Internet services from SBC to Time Warner Cable, providing a substantial cost savings and higher speed
Completed the 1900 PC Project to replace instructional computers District-wide

Deployed the Microsoft Windows 2003 Project Upgrade (from Novel Groupwise to Microsoft Active Directory/Exchange)
Deployed the District-wide Wireless Project
Implemented an IT Plan and Centralized Training Repository through the Technology Resource Center
Realigned the IT Division for better customer support and expanded hours of operation
Overall Accomplishments Continued
Established the Equipment Replacement Committee to replace equipment in non-instructional areas
Established the Information Security Department

Publish a quarterly IT Newsletter designed to keep the District informed of important updates and developments

Completed fiber and SONET network equipment/connection to MdP Campus

Implemented the STS Program, which has grown from 13 to 35 students; currently partnering with EPISDImplemented Content Management and provided training for web page developmentUpdated all IT ProceduresExpanded help desk and campus operator hours of operation
Academic Computing Services
Hired ACS Lab Manager in April 2005
ACS Labs now serving as information centers for students, faculty and staff
Instructional Media Services
IT Committee funded the purchase of 160 LCD projectors for District-wide use
Developed schedule to increase IMS evening coverage
IMS reorganized to report directly to AVP, Instructional Resources and Technology
Technology Resource Center
Procured additional space, purchased equipment for new TRC at the Rio Grande Campus
Established mentoring program for faculty teaching distance education
Providing new WebCTtraining for faculty teaching online courses
3D Holographic Projection Lab
IT Committee supported the purchase of the instructional equipment for a total of $68,700
Lab has been set-up at the ATC
Providing on-going demonstrations for students, faculty and staff
Center for Instructional Telecommunications
Installed a Leitch Broadcast Server for more efficient programming on weekends
Produced approx. 67 video productions
Currently producing an instructional DVD for the Occupational Education Discipline
Established more efficient set-up processes for the recording of monthly board meetings
