Creating an Account1) Visit http://infogr.am and click on the “Start now it’s free” button to get started.

Getting Started

Creating ChartsInfogr.am allows you to create either an infographic or an individual chart. Infographics are handy when you want to use graphic visualization to tell a story that involves multiple charts and data. First, we’ll cover creating charts.

1) From your dashboard, you’ll want to click on “Create”

2) At the top, you’ll be able to choose from Infographics and Charts, click on “Charts”

3) You’ll be able to choose from a variety of different charts. Note: Each one will have slightly different settings and options. Also notice that there are several different types within each category of charts. Find the best graph for your data. You can always go back and change the chart. In this tutorial, we’re going to create a Pictorial chart.

4) Once you’ve selected the chart you want, click “Add Chart”.

5) You’ll be taken to a screen, where you can start editing your graphic. Double click on areas to edit them such as the title, descrip-tion, and the chart itself.

6) Double click on the chart area and a window will slide out that will allow you to input data. The chart comes with pre-inputted data to help you get started and determine how the data will look.

7) For this chart, we’re going to do an infographic about the “U.S. Smartphone Users by Age, 2012 (% of population).” We’ve inputted that in the title and now we’re going to insert the following data into the table:

20120-11 2.5 %12-17 36 %18-24 60.9 %25-34 63.8 %35-44 55.2 %45-64 37%65+ 14.1 %

Note: Instead of manually inputting the data, you canclick on the “Load Data” buttonto upload an Excel sheet.

Once you’re gotten all your data, click “Done.” Yourgraph should now look like this:

Creating Infographics1) From your dashboard, you’ll want to click on “Create”

2) At the top, you’ll be able to choose from Infographics and Charts, click on “Infographics”

3) You’ll be able to choose from a variety of infographic templates. Once you find one that you like, click on the “Use Design” button.

Add a Chart.

Add a Map.

Add a Text Box.

Add a Picture.

Add a Video.

4) Once you’ve selected a design, you’ll be able to start editing your infographic. Just like Charts, you’ll double click on areas to edit the text. The infographic comes with dummy text and an intial graph in the infographic to get you started. To remove a section, simply hover over it and click on the X to delete it. To rearrange sections, simply hover until you get the crosshairs and drag it up and down.

5) Use the right hand sidebar to add more text, charts, maps, pictures and videos.

Sharing Your Charts / InfographicsOnce you’ve created your charts/infographics, you can share them.

1) When you’re editing, there is a “Share” button at the top that you can click.

You can share it via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or use theembed code to put it on an online platform.

Note at the bottom, there is a link to unpublish your chart/inforgraphic.

Getting Started

If not in the edit window of your chart/infographic, you can view all your charts/infographics via your Library, which can be found on your main Dashboard page.

You will then be taken to a new screen that lists all your graphics.

Click on the “Edit” button underneath the chart/infographic youwant to get to the “Share” button.
