Regarding the pressure of inlet, do not exceed the maximum pressure of the reel. Note that the reel is rewound by a high tensioned spring.

Do not disassemble the ratchet device when the reel is rewound by high tension.

Use the smooth hose for connecting the inlet and do not use rigid plumbing.

Make sure the line pressure does not exceed the rated operating pressure of the hose reel, refer to the specifications.

Exposure of the skin directly to pressurized air or fluid could result in severe bodily injury.

Before carrying out any maintenance, turn off and disconnect the supply line to the reel and carefully release the hose line pressure.

ASSEMBLY / INSTALLATION

1 Unpack and inspect reel for any damage. Turn the reel by hand to check whether the reel is operating smoothly or not.

2 After installing the swivel mounting bracket with anchor brackets (if welding is required, it should be welded), then install the reel by placing the pin between the reel and swivel mounting bracket.

3 If user wants to install the reel higher than the normal height, disassemble the hose stopper and adjust to the height.

4 If user wants to disassemble the hose stopper, the ratchet device should be fixed. If not, the reel can be damaged because the hose can be retracted by spring tension.

5 If the reel is installed to the ceiling or the wall, install the secondary wire to prevent an accident.

Typical mounting position

When the reel is mounted on the ground, it should be mounted correctly. If the hose is taken out when the

reel is not mounted correctly, the reel can fall down and become damaged.

When the reel is mounted on the wall, it should be mounted correctly. If the hose is taken out when

the reel is not mounted correctly, the reel can fall down and become damaged. The user can also be injured.

When the reel is mounted on the ceiling, it should be mounted correctly. If the hose is taken out when the

reel is not mounted correctly, the reel can fall down and become damaged. The user can also be injured.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1 Check reel for correct operation by slowly pulling the hose out. A ”clicking” noise will be heard every half rotation (180° angle) on the drum. The ratchet stopper will be engaged. At this moment, the hose will not be rewound and it will be stopped.

2 When the user wants to rewind the hose, pull the hose slowly. When the “clicking noise” occurs, unhand the hose slowly then the hose will be rewound.

3 If user releases the hose suddenly, the hose will be rewound suddenly and it causes a backlash. This backlash will damage the spring.

4 If the user disassembles the stopper when the reel is tensioned, a backlash occurs. The backlash will damage the spring.

5 Frequently inspect the hose for damage and wear, and check for swivel joint leakage. If the leakage occurs, replace or repair the parts.

A. Air Leakage 1. Worn inlet hose

2. Worn O-Ring

3. Coupler problem

1. Tighten hose clamp or exchange the hose

2. Exchange O-Ring

3. Tighten coupler or exchange

B. Poor retracting 1. Spring has broken or has lost all tension

1. Spring adjust or exchange

C. Not latched 1. Incorrect operation

2. Latch assembly is worn

1. Reel latches on first, second or third “click” After the third click the reel automatically rewinds.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION INSTRUCTION

Any repairs or replacements must be done by a qualified person or authorized service center only.

An inspection should be conducted periodically. Also the maintenance record should be updated periodically. When a problem occurs, it should be repaired

after the pressure has been released.

Ratchet / Spring Inspection

When the hose is pulled out, the “clicking” sound should be heard. After the “clicking” noise is heard, the rotating drum will be locked in place by the ratchet deviceand the hose will not be rewound. If the clicking sound is not heard, the hose should rewind automatically. The inspection should proceed as above periodically.● When the ratchet device does not work, it should be replaced.● When the hose is not rewound automatically, the spring should be replaced.

Leakage Inspection

Regarding the media (fluid) which is used for the hose reel, checking for leaks should be done periodically. After taking out the hose, fully apply the soapy water on the connected point. (Such as housing or shaft). If the connected point is bubbling up, the user should suspect phenomenon of leakage. ● When a leak occurs, the sealing of the housing or shaft should be replaced.● When a leak occurs because of hose damage, the hose should be replaced.

1. Disassemble the hose stopper’s bolts. Slide the hose into the guide roller and then loosen the spring tension.

2. Unfasten the bolts which are fastened on the shaft, then disassemble the frame.

3. Detach the circlip, which is attached beside the drum, then disassemble the drum.

4. Remove spring and shaft.

8

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION INSTRUCTION(CONTINUED)

Disassembly procedure of the reel

1. Unfasten the bolt of the hose stopper (1), slide the hose out into the hose guide (2), decrease the tension (3,4).2. Disconnect the inlet hose and unfasten the elbow. (5)3. Unfasten the bolt (6) which is connecting the frame and drum. Then take the frame out. (7)4. Disassemble the drum (9) after taking the snap ring (8) out of the ratchet. At this moment, it is possible to take the spring out suddenly and it can cause an accident. Make the gap using the driver or any other tools in advance. Then fix the spring with vise pliers through the gap carefully.5. Disassemble the shaft (10) and spring (11). If user wants to replace the spring, fix the new spring using vise pliers then remove the band which is fixed on the new spring. Then insert the new spring into the spring case quickly.6. Assembly is a reversal of the disassembly procedure.
