ABSTRACT Induction machine modeling including magnetic saturation and iron core losses.Three models are reviewed: Linear model that assumes the entire simplified hypothesis Magnetizing flux saturation Iron losses In the proposed model, a more generalized approach to induction machine modeling : iron loss and saturation is presented. The proposed model is validated by experimental results.

INTRODUCTIONInduction machines are widely used in the industry.Linear and non-linear relationship between flux and currents. In I.M for a controlling static converter is uses so, iron losses is increases. The iron core losses are normally modeled with an equivalent resistance Rfe. Include iron loss in the induction machine model is to connecting RFe in parallel with the magnetizing branch or with stator branch. That by appropriate modification : the obtained sixth order model can be reduced to a fourth order model.10-Mar-175EMMA-(2720715 )

OBJECTIVE Develops a new model, based on a nonlinear circuit of the machine.Simultaneously includes both magnetic saturation and iron losses. The resulting model avoids the need to transform iron losses representation from parallel form to serial form. The proposed model is more accurate than the simplified model in predicting the induction machine characteristics. The model has been validated over a large range of operating points.10-Mar-176EMMA-(2720715 )

INDUCTION MACHINE MODEL INCLUDING IRON LOSSES Show in fig .1 a resistor RFe coupled to the magnetizing branch is added to incorporate iron losses. This resistor can be used to takes into account core losses in stator iron.10-Mar-178EMMA-(2720715 )

To reduce the system order, the equivalent circuit of Figure.1 can be transformed from the parallel to a serial form show in below,10-Mar-179EMMA-(2720715 )

The equivalent circuit is shown in Fig.2. Equations (VS-VR) show that, with consideration of iron loss the order of the system does not change compare due to the simplified model.

SATURATED MODEL Saturation effect in induction machines is associated with the magnetizing flux. The induction machine model equations are transformed for currents as state variables and can be written as :[V]=[L][I]+[R][I]

Mdy and Lm are the dynamic and static inductance's, respectively. Mdq is the term that explains the mutual "cross effect" between the axis in quadrate. 10-Mar-1711EMMA-(2720715 )

PROPOSED INDUCTION MACHINE MODEL INCLUDING IRON LOSSES AND SATURATION Magnetic saturation and iron loss occur simultaneity; hence ,the I.M needs to be model that account for main flux saturation and iron losses. The principles of magnetizing flux saturation modeling and derivation procedure remain the same as for induction machine without iron loss. The induction machine model equations are transformed for currents as state variables and can be written as :[V]=[L][I]+[R][I]

In practical point of view the proposed model can be easily used . It required only preliminary experimental evaluation of no-load magnetizing characteristic of the machine and the equivalent iron loss resistance. The evaluation can be made by performing a standard no-load test on an I.M 10-Mar-1713EMMA-(2720715 )

SIMULATION AND EXPERIMENTAL RESULTSA 5.5 kW induction machine is used for simulation and experimental investigations. In order to verify the proposed model, we carried out two start-up tests at no load. The two tests were carried out with two levels of saturation obtained for two voltage levels:The first test was carried out with a reduced fed voltage which corresponds to an unsaturated operating. The second test consists to fed the machine with a nominal voltage where the machine is strongly saturated.10-Mar-1714EMMA-(2720715 )

CONCLUSIONThe mathematical model developed and presented in this paper includes both iron loss and magnetic saturation. It is more accurate than the simplified model in every facet of the prediction of machine performance. The developed model is based on modification of iron loss consideration. Verification of the developed model is done by performing a simulation and experimental investigation of an induction motor start up. 10-Mar-1717EMMA-(2720715 )
