  • Who we are

    CSO Alliance on Ending Violence Against Children (or Alliance on EVAC) is a coalition of Indonesia civil society consists of organizations with similar objectives to fight for ending violence against children in Indonesia.

    Alliance Presidium for the period of 2017 to 2022,

    Alliance Members are 30 NGO’s

  • Vision

    Improvement of impact from the role of civil society organizations in supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Target 16.2, and other related targets to stop abuse, exploitation, trafficking, and all forms of violence and torture against children through collaborations and joint actions in the global, regional, national, and local partnership framework.

  • ROLE AND FUNCTIONS

    To fill the gaps in providing supports for children or in the approach to solve complex issues.

    To build public opinion and policies at the global/regional/national/local levels related to issues that violate child rights protection.

    To facilitate voices of children who experience violence to be heard and responded by the stakeholders.

    To campaign and trigger acceleration of change at the global/regional/national/local levels to end violence against children.

    To mainstream the end of violence against children in all related sectors and activities.

    To coordinate involvement of different civil society organizations in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of road map of National Strategy to End Violence Against Children.

    To ensure nothing is left out, including meaningful child and youth participation in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of National Strategy to End Violence Against Children at the national/regional level.

  • • Our collaboration since its start with 20 CSO’s in 2017 today we are 30 CSO’s

    • And we already have encouraged the establishment CSO Alliance on EVAC in East Nusa Tenggara

  • Review our 1st IGNITE CSO Grant

    The Alliance got the grant of 20,000 USD

    • Appointed WVI as the grant manager, while other member participate actively in implementing the activities.

    Through the Grant we has delivered :

    • Maintained collaboration with government of Indonesia on providing inputs towards the National Action Plan of SDGs’ respective targets and indicators.

    • Facilitated Children consultation on EVAC and facilitated their attendance at Global event on EVAC in Canada and Sweden

  • Review our 1st IGNITE CSO Grant

    • Produced promising practices book on prevention and respond to violence against children which was compiled from different members of the Alliance

    • Built the capacities of CSOs Alliance members on EVAC through webinar and face to face meeting on INSPIRE Strategies

    Challenges

    The EVAC movement is getting bigger, but the capacity of Indonesian CSOs are varied. So then the needs of accelerating the INSPIRE strategies will be an important element on SDGs roadmap and National action plan implementation.

    Mainstreaming Alliance’s work into Government structure

  • Our Learning & Challenges

    Intersectoral coordination, working inline with Government Priority and at the same time ensure the collaboration and integration at the implementation level

    Prevention and Respond Program spread varied in all sectoral that have two side pro and cons

    Pro : VAC is mainstreaming to all sectors

    Cons :

    • Different approaches and tend to end up with only ceremonial

    • No effective as there is no Monev system in Place including the Indicators are varied and as a result not inline with “SDGs” and INSPIRE Indicators

    • Reporting systems also varied handle by different department and as a results “the cases may be counting twice or more” and lack of case management

  • Updates for last year 2019

    February 2019, Alliance also participated to give inputs for Indonesia Voluntary National Review, through conducted consultation with children especially for SDG 16.2, from 8 provinces where alliance members are working.

    One of child representative from Wahana VisiIndonesia – World Vision also represent children from Indonesia to voice out how children can contribute to SDG 16.9, through their active engagement in their home for promote birth registration.

    April 2019 in collaboration with Global Initiative for Ending all of corporal punishment we conducted law reform workshop in Jogyakarta. The workshop actually was positive expression of PKTA alliance to show our commitment to work with government, and also the commitment from Global to support give capacity building for CSO of pathfinder country.

  • Updates for last year 2019

    August 2019, Alliance PKTA in collaboration with ChildFund International, World Vision, Unicef, WHO and the ministry of development planning host a regional INSPIRE Seven Strategies with the total 32 participants coming from Sri Lanka, Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Kamboja, Myanmar, Cambodia, Mongolia, and Indonesia.

    The strategy aims to promote and implement Seven INSPIRE strategies in countries with the support of CSO.

    In country in collaboration and under the leadership of the Ministry of national planning and women empowerment and child protection – the INSPIRE has been rollout for governments and NGO member

    - Agreed to inline and adoption of INSPIRE into national strategy for ending VAC 2020 – 2024

    - Agreed to established “ a platform” for intersectoral coordination for EVAC

  • Updates for last year 2019

    November 2019, This year also marked as CRC year, as this year also a time for our Government for submitting ta country report 5th and 6th to the committee of CRC in Geneva.

    Since the GoI has not yet submitted the country report, alliance PKTA together with NGO Coalition to conduct serial of children consultation from village level and bring the children voice up to the national level.

    At that moment we invited UNRC member from Japan. Ms Mikoko to had a consultation with children from Indonesia.
