2015 Dad’s Club

Hello, my name is Chris Silberzahn and I am the leader of the Dad's Club. I am currently looking for a couple of dads to help me with school and club events.

The Dad's Club is looking forward to the 3 events planned for this year. The all new Pancake Breakfast on December 5th, a movie matinee, and a Pacer game night. Dates and times are to be determined, and information will be sent home when dates and times are set.

Nurse’s notes…

Notice of vision screening:

All 1st grade students will be screened in accordance with IN law using the Modified Clinical Technique, a group of tests designed to determine the presence of any vision difficulties. The four parts include visual acuity (done by MCHD in Sept.), eye muscle balance, retinoscopy, and ocular health. This special screening will be done on Wed. Oct. 28, through the generosity of Drs. Huffman, Rich and Potter, optometrists in Franklin Township. FT buses will transport students to and from the screening at Kitley Elementary School. Parents will receive referrals shortly after the screening and are urged to follow up so that the students’ educations are opti-mized. Good vision is essential to learning. Please contact the nurse at your child’s school for questions.

Thank you to our car riders who have staggered their pickup times.

Pickup seems to be going much smoother!

Thank you to all those who attended the father/ daughter.

We had a great turn out!

Thanks to those who came out and attended our first family game

night!

A BIG Thank You to all of you who make these events possible by donating your time!

FTCSC...Prepared for Life's Possibilities!

Just a friendly reminder to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade parents that your child's roller skating permission slips should have been returned to Miss Roberts by Friday October 2, 2015. If you have NOT already filled this permission slip out, please due so ASAP and send it in with your child.

Beginning the week of November 2nd and continuing until November 25th, our 3rd thru 5th Grade Physical Education classes will be participating in an in-house skating program. This skating unit is being im-plemented because of its emphasis as a “Lifetime Activity”. Skating provides a variety of benefits, which include balance, coordination, motor skills, and a top rated cardio-respiratory workout. Students will also learn basic skating skills such as starting, stopping, forward skating, backward skating and a number of safety tips for being a smart skater.
