6 IF-57xx Terminal Family The IF-57xx terminal family consists of 3 different terminal types with the features described below. 7 Electrical Installation

Electric shock can cause severe injuries or death.

Connection to mains voltage may therefore only be carried out by persons trained in electrical engineering.

Initial operation may only be performed by persons instructed on accident prevention regulations (VBG 4). Interflex systems may only run on electrical installations which correspond to DIN VDE 0100. To

guarantee trouble-free operation, we recommend carrying out the electrical installation according to the principles of a TN-S system, which means using separate neutral and protective earth conductors.

Secure the power cable with a strain relief. The device must have an external separator. The device must be equipped with an external fuse protection with a maximum nominal current of 10 A.

8 Installation Please carry out the installation steps for IF-57xx in the following order:

Install all cables. Make sure to use a flexible Ethernet cable and leave enough space (e.g. in a cavity wall case) for the cable.

Fasten the metal back panel of the IF-57xx terminal to the wall. Fasten the PoE terminal board to the back panel. Connect the 8-core RJ45 network cable to the PoE terminal board. If an external power supply is being used, connect it to the 3-pin terminal. Plug the 14-pin connector into the terminal board. Clip the IF-57xx into the back panel and gently press down. Insert mortise lock at the bottom. Tape over the mortise lock with adhesive tape. Adhesive tape is included in the accessories. Connect the IF-57xx to a hub or switch. Connect the external power supply, if PoE power supply is not available. Set the network address and change the password. Perform a function test.

To comply with the required EMC values, the IF-57xx needs a functional grounding. The functional grounding is established via the PoE device and the patch cable. If an external power supply is being used, functional grounding is connected to PE on the 3-pin terminal strip. Check if there is functional grounding on the PoE device. Ground PoE devices without functional grounding via existing soldering lugs or screw terminals.

9.1 Electrical Connections

For secure, reliable operation in compliance with EMC values, the following must be observed: The specified cable lengths. The specifications indicate the permitted cable lengths that guarantee

reliable system function. The cable type.

Install only data and control cables with cable shielding, e.g. cable type JY(ST)Y with anti-static shield. Electrical installation standards.

The device may only be operated via electrical systems that comply with current national standards, e.g. VDE 0100.

10 Fastening the Back Panel of the Housing Fasten the back panel of the housing only to an even surface.

If the cables are to be surface-mounted, a spacer is required (black, order no. 75-5735-0001 or white, order no. 75-5735-0002).

10.1 Fastening the PoE Terminal Board to the Back Panel of the Housing Screw the terminal board to the threaded bolts of the metal back panel using the 2 screws included in

delivery. Insert the 8-core network cable into the cutout on the metal back panel and plug it into the female

connector on the terminal board.

The nose of the connector faces toward the wall. When disconnecting the RJ45 connector, use a small screwdriver to push the nose of the plug upwards. If an external power supply is being used, connect the lines to terminals AC- and AC+ and the protective ground to terminal PE. Functional grounding is connected via the RJ45 connector and the hub/switch.

10.2 Plug-in Connection The main board and the PoE terminal board are connected by a 14-pin connector. The power supply as well as the connection to the data lines takes place via this connector.

2 Connector - female end. The female end of the connector faces upward, so that it can easily be connected to the main board of the IF-57xx.

The 14-pin connector must be plugged into the PoE terminal board in such a way that the female connector faces upward. When connecting the IF-57xx, make sure that the female end of the connector can easily be connected to the main board. If necessary, adjust the connector.

For devices of the series IF-57xx, the flexible patch cable must run through an empty tube to the installation site when flush-mounted to ensure that the line length can be flexibly adjusted!

12 Connecting the PoE Terminal Board Power can be supplied to the PoE terminal board in two different ways.

13 Setting the Network Address The address of the IF-57xx is factory preset to 172.18.70.52.

Change the factory-set IP address after initial operation (further information can be found under "Configure the network connection").

Avoid double addressing. Always put one device after the other into operation.

14 LEDs and Switches

1 Anti-tamper switch The anti-tamper switch triggers an alarm when the housing is opened. To suppress this

alarm, it must be turned off by a parameter setting in the time recording program.

2 BUS LED Indicates data traffic with one slave terminal.

3 Speed LED LED lights up only with 100 Mb Network connection.

4 Net LED LED lights up as soon as the terminal is detected by the network.

5 Reset button The Reset button ends active processes and triggers a reboot (restart).

6 SW switch 2 The SW switch is used to set the standard IP address 172.18.70.52 with temporary storage of the specified IP address.

7 Cold boot switch 1 The cold boot switch is used to delete saved data and set default parameters.

8 Power LED Lights up when operating voltage is switched on.

9 Adhesive tape The adhesive tape is applied over the mortise lock to prevent electrostatic discharges.

15 Service Interface Kit no. 75-99-0006 is required for servicing. This kit contains a serial/USB converter as well as a 14-pin flat conductor cable with a 14-pin adapter board. Detailed information can be found in the mounting instructions no. 95-10304 which are included in the delivery of the kit.

A service connection is possible via: 1. the service interface connected through a serial/USB converter (order no. 75-99-0006). 2. TCP/IP with Telnet or SSH. By means of a remote program like PuTTY, the appropriate OC task commands can be issued. Please note the setting of 115,200 baud as well as Xon and Xoff if the TTL/USB converter is being used.

15.1 Install drivers To operate the service interface of the IF-57xx, you need a USB to UART Bridge VCP driver. You can find this driver on our Notes Periphery Database or on the enclosed CD. If necessary, you can download it from the Internet under the address USB Serial Driver (http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/pages/usbtouartbridgevcpdrivers.aspx). Extract the *.zip file and install the driver by launching the *.EXE file. For example for Windows, CP210xVCPInstaller_x86.exe.

Follow the wizard's instructions until the driver is fully installed.

15.2 Installation of the IF-USB Serial Adapter Plug the IF-USB serial adapter into an available USB port on your computer.

Your computer will recognize the IF-USB serial adapter and assign it to a free COM port. In the illustrated example (1), the IF-USB serial adapter is assigned to COM2.

Using the device manager of your PC, find out which COM port the IF-USB serial adapter is using. If your computer does not recognize the IF-USB serial adapter, you might have to reinstall the driver.

Now connect the serial interface of the IF-USB serial adapter with your IF-57xx master terminal. Enter the following values in a terminal emulation software, such as Power Term or PuTTY:

Baud rate 115200 baud

Data bits / parity 8 / none

Stop bits 1

Flow control Xon / Xoff

Port Here, enter the COM port that is connected with the IF-USB serial adapter.

You can now access your IF-57xx master terminal with the terminal emulation software.

16 Initial Operation

Initial operation requires extensive system knowledge and may be carried out only by authorized personnel. Procedure:

Turn on the power after you have fastened the back panel of the housing and plugged in the device. Wait until the display shows the logo, then the IP address followed by the symbols for IN / OUT (IF-5735)

or the time (IF-5721). Then carry out steps 1 to 6 in the correct order.

1. Change the password. 2. Configure the network connection. 3. Restart the terminal to establish the new network connection. 4. Integrate the terminal into a time recording/ access control program, such as IF-6020/IF-6040, and load

the data (see manual of the time management/ access control program for detailed information). 5. Check the RFID reader. 6. Lock the housing with the mortise lock and then put the adhesive tape over the lock.

16.1 How to Change the Password You can change the specified password with the OC command passwd. Recommendation: Choose an encrypted password.

Please keep the new password in a safe place. If it is lost, the commands can no longer be accessed. The device must be returned to the manufacturer to be reset.

16.2 Configuring the Network Connection Network connections are configured with the command netpar -x

In the example, address 172.18.70.52 was changed to 172.18.12.136. Other settings, such as Gateway, Netmask, etc., that are not to be changed, can simply be confirmed by pressing the Return key.

16.3 Restart the Terminal You can restart the terminal either with command oc -s ( warm start) or oc -c (cold start). You have to restart the terminal, e.g., if you have changed the network address. The new settings have been accepted and are active if the IF-57xx shows the start symbols.

16.4 Establish a Telnet Connection Establish a TELNET connection via the factory-set IP address. A login can be performed after connection setup. Log-in is carried out by entering the user name root and the password Haydnstr (note exact spelling). The user then has access to the consoles and Linux commands.

17 Touch Screen Using the touch screen of the device, you can easily perform a booking or view account values.

Make sure that the touch screen does not come into contact with other electrical equipment. Electrostatic

discharges may cause malfunctions. Make sure that the touch screen does not come into contact with liquids. Moisture or contact with liquids

may cause malfunctions. To ensure optimal functioning of the touch screen, remove the protective film from the display before

using the device for the first time. The touch screen has a layer that detects small electrical discharges, such as those emitted by the human body. Touch the screen with your fingertip. The touch screen does not respond when touched with a sharp object such as a stylus.

18 Proximity Sensor The terminal is equipped with a proximity sensor. If the terminal is not in use, it switches to (power-saving) sleep mode. When someone approaches the terminal, it wakes up and is immediately available.

19 Accessories The following items can be ordered as accessories. 20.1 Mounting the Interface Expander 1 Interface expander 2 Distance spacers

The interface expander is mounted to the back panel of the IF-57xx master terminal using 2 screws and 2 distance spacers. The distance spacers lie between the back panel of the housing and the interface expander.

In order to install an IF-57xx master terminal with an interface expander to the wall, you need an IF-57xx spacer. Order number 75-5735-0001 (black) / 75-5735-0002 (white).

20.2 Connections

20.4 Connection of an Interface Expander to an IF-57xx Terminal

Example: An IF-5735 master terminal is connected to an I/O controller board with an Interface expander. The IF-5735 master terminal can control both inputs and the relay via this board (3).

Thus, a further terminal - in this case an IF-800 - can be connected to the RS485 bus (4) of the Interface expander.

1 Interface expander. The RS485 bus on terminals 2 and 3 may not exceed the maximum length of 100 m.

5 I/O controller board for an additional IF-800 terminal. This board must be installed in a secured area. Power is supplied via the power transformer (8).

2 IF-57xx master terminal 6 Terminal strip board

3 Via this I/O controller board, both of the inputs and the relay are controlled. This I/O controller board must be mounted in a secured area. Power is supplied via the COM interface.

7 IF-800 terminal

4 RS485 bus. The max. length may not exceed 100 m.

8 230 VAC power transformer for the power supply of the I/O controller board (5). The voltage amounts to 18-24 VAC or 18-24 VDC.

21 Spacer The Spacer is required: for connecting an IF-57xx terminal via surface-mounted cables. when using an interface expander board.

21.1 Mounting

Break out the corresponding tabs on the bottom of the spacer. Insert the wires through the spacer as shown. Screw the spacer along with the metal back panel to the wall.

Recommended installation height: 1250 mm. Fasten the PoE terminal board to the metal back panel of the IF-5735. Connect the wires to the PoE terminal board of the IF-5735.

To keep the IF-5735 master terminal free from interference, we recommend fastening the spacer so that there is a distance of 30 cm to the next slave terminal or another system with RFID card readers and a distance of 10 cm between the connection cable and the nearest power lines.

21.2 Laying the Cables With PoE power supply, lay the 8-wire network cable in such a way that a loop is formed at the top and

strain relief is provided below. With external power supply, install the additional cable to the left of the network cable.

Use a flexible patch cable! Feed the cable through a cable duct or an empty tube to the place of installation. If possible, also install an appliance case behind the spacer. This way, you can variably adjust the cable length to facilitate inserting the RJ45 connector. It would be beneficial if you could start the installation by connecting the patch cable to the PoE terminal board. With an external power supply, use a flexible control line of the type Flex JZ 3 x 0.75 mm².
