I Am Sorry
It Is My Fault
This Is The Story.....
There Were Two Temples High Up In The Mountain,
The Monks Living In Temple A Were At Loggerheads.
Their Lives Were Miserable.
The Monks Living In Temple B Were A Happy Lot.
Every Monk Carried A Smiling Face.
The Abbot Of Temple A Felt Curious .
He Consulted A Samanera Of Temple B:
‘ How Do You All Manage To Maintain The Harmony In The Temple All The Time?’
The Samanera Replied:’ It Is Because We Always Make Mistake.’
As The Abbot Was Feeling Baffled,
He Saw A Monk Walking In Hastily.
He Stepped Into Shrine;
Slipped And Fell.
A Monk Who Was Mopping The Floor Immediately Went Over To Help Him To Get Up And Said:
’ I Am Sorry, It Is My Fault Making The Floor So Wet.’
Another Monk Who Was Standing At The Doorway Rushed Inside And Said Apologetically:
‘ I Am Sorry, It Is My Fault. I Did Not Warn You Somebody Is Mopping The Floor.’
The Monk Got Up ;
Feeling Bad For His Own Carelessness, Said:
’ I Am Sorry, It Is My Own Fault.
I Should Be More Mindful When Walking.’
Seeing All These,
The Abbot Who Came For Advice
Was Awakened And Found The Answer.
Do You Know His Answer ?
Moral Of The Story
Admitting Mistake Is Not Defeat,
It Shows Cultivation,
It Could Inspire A Person To Progress
It Could Also Transform Hostility To Harmony.
