Human Resources Manager: HRIS, Benefits and Compensation INTO North America INTO University Partnerships collaborates with leading universities to provide international students with a personalized and highly supportive learning environment in which to acclimatize to life on a US university campus and prepare for long-term academic success. Since 2006, INTO has launched partnerships to internationalize 19 universities in the US, UK and Asia, including Oregon State University, University of South Florida, Colorado State University, Marshall University, Drew University, and George Mason University Job Purpose Manages the compensation, benefit, and HRIS functions for all INTO U.S. based operations. Implements new HRIS functionality with respect to Workday and other HR systems. Designs and administers new compensation programs, policies, procedures, in order to be responsive to the company’s goals and practices. Provides guidance and assistance to all locations on various employee benefit plans. Develops, recommends, and installs approved, new, or modified plans and employee benefit policies, and supervises administration of existing plans. Job Responsibilities

Develop benefit cost modeling to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to company and employees. Serve as the North America subject matter expert and main point of contact in the areas of compensation, benefits and HRIS. In conjunction with Global Compensation & Benefits Director, evaluate, design and recommend compensation and benefit programs based on market assessment and business strategy. Oversee and direct the administration and operational elements of the company benefit and compensation plans. Ensure compliance with all required government reporting, regulatory changes and benefit documentation. In conjunction with the Global Compensation & Benefits Director, oversee the design and delivery of compensation elements such as performance management, market pricing, salary structures, job descriptions, salary surveys, compensation administration and incentive/bonus plans.

Implement new benefit plans and plan changes by preparing announcement materials to communicate information to employees. Conduct employee meetings and enrollment. Maintain contact with benefit vendors, employees and management to ensure appropriate utilization of benefits by and for all employees. In conjunction with Global Compensation & Benefits Director and Global HRIS Coordinator, design and test new functionality in HRIS, train employees and managers while documenting processes. Conducting regular benefit orientations for all new hires on a regular basis which may be on-site or remote. High level of autonomy and decision making with respect to areas of responsibility.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or required field. Six to eight years’ Human Resources experience including HRIS, benefits and compensation responsibilities. Knowledge of Human Resources laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, EEO, and OSHA. Knowledge of federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefit plans, including the Affordable Care Act, ERISA, COBRA, Section 125, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements. Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications. Prior experience utilizing Workday or other complex cloud-based or internally hosted computer systems. Must have strong oral and written communication skills with a customer service mindset. Required ability to summarize initiatives for an executive audience. Ability to travel freely to and from the U.S., as well as within the U.S. Desirable: SHRM certification (PHR/ SPHR) or designation as a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP). Project development and project management experience. Familiarity with an HRIS or payroll system, preferably Workday or ADP. Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently with limited oversight and direction. Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy to detail. Able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and build relationships with employees, senior managers and external vendors. Mathematical aptitude and analysis skills. Able to maintain strict confidentiality. Willingness to travel domestically with some international travel possible.

Position Location/Interim Responsibilities/Reporting

This position will be located at the INTO North America office in San Diego, California, and will report to the INTO North America Human Resources Director, with a dotted line to the Global Compensation & Benefits Director in the UK.
