Leadership skills:Professional growthThough few of us are born natural leaders, leadership canbe taught. Hult integrates the best leadership developmentpractices from the world’s top companies into our MBAcurriculum so you can make an immediate impact when you return to the workforce.

    An award-winning leadershipdevelopment methodology

In 2014, Hult won the prestigious

    Association of MBAs Innovation

    Award for our ground-breaking

    approach to incorporating the best

    tools and techniques from

    preeminent corporate leadership

    development programs into our MBA

    curriculum. Hult students develop five

    key leadership competencies across

    three development areas that

    employers deem critical to success

(right). We call this the Hult LEAD

    Model—Leadership through

    Evaluation, Awareness and

    Development.

    How does LEAD work?

Since leadership can only truly be

    learned through practice, Hult

    students undergo a continuous

    process of training, application, and

    mentorship throughout their program

year. Critical to this process is

    constant feedback and support from

    fellow students and professional

coaches (see facing page). We begin

    charting each student’s progress from

their first week of Immersion and, by

    graduation, the results are very

    impressive—over 85% of our students

show a significant improvement in all

    five key compentencies and three

    development areas.

The Business Challenge:Practical experiencePut all the business knowledge and leadership skills you learn tothe test with this seven-month competition in which you and your teammates devise a game-changing idea to solve an existingproblem for a major corporation, or to create the business planfor a startup.

Rise to the challenge and makea real impact

The key concepts of business can

    certainly be introduced by a

teacher, case study, or textbook. But

    they cannot truly be mastered

until they are grappled with firsthand.

    The Business Challenge is a

seven-month group project to solve a

real business problem. It’s designed to

help you develop and test innovative

ideas that really make a difference—

not only to your MBA program but in

    your future career and beyond.

    How it works

The competition starts in Module A,

    when students form teams and

choose a Business Challenge track. In

the CEO Challenge, you select a

problem set by top executives from

    major multinationals. In the Startup

Challenge, you bring your own idea to

life for a new product, service, or

    social enterprise. Throughout the

remainder of the year, your team

    meets regularly to hone your

    innovative idea into an actionable

    plan, thanks to regular mentorship

    and guidance from your professors

    and local business professionals.

    A launchpad for you career

    The Business Challenge culminates in

    a series of regional elimination

    rounds, where teams compete

head-to-head to advance to the Global

Final, held at one of our campuses

    worldwide. Finalists get to present

their business ideas to a panel of

    esteemed judges comprised of

    executives, global entrepreneurs, and

    well-known founders of social

enterprises. The challenge isn’t just an

academic exercise, but the first step to

your dream job, or the launch pad for

your own startup or social enterprise.

    HultSan Francisco

San Francisco is home to the biggestbreakthrough companies of the twenty-firstcentury, assuming almost epicenter status forthe world’s most forward-thinkingentrepreneurs. The technology born here bythe likes of Apple, Google, and Facebook hasnot only brought about huge shifts in theglobal marketplace, it has also changed theface of corporate culture. San Francisco hasbecome a byword for creativity, and itssuccess stories epitomize what it means tohave a truly entrepreneurial mindset.

    Why chooseSan Francisco

    A perfect blend

San Francisco is the ideal location for

the digitally driven age we currently

live in. The city has long been

    powered by the startup economy,

earning itself a global reputation for

    creativity and technological wizardry.

Indeed, having seen a generation of

    determined entrepreneurs build huge

business empires out of garages and

    college dorm rooms, San Francisco

    has become the world’s premier

destination for those wanting to push

the boundaries of the possible. Silicon

Valley, just south of the city, is the

world’s leading tech hub, and is home

to anyone who is anyone in the digital

    world, including Facebook, Twitter,

eBay, Uber and Airbnb. Yet 85% of

companies in the Bay Area have less

than ten employees. This blend of

small and mighty makes for a truly

    unique business community, where

forward thinking and creativity are the

    most highly prized credentials.

    A wealth of opportunities

    A diverse population, startup driven

    economy, and a notoriously informal

    approach to corporate etiquette mean

    that many conventional business rules

have no place in San Francisco.

    A business fraternity of marketers,

    creatives, operations specialists,

    finance experts, and consultants fuel

    the tech-driven industries, so

whatever your business skills, you can

be sure that your perfect role exits.

    Social entrepreneurship and

sustainability are high on the city’s

agenda so anyone with experience in

    these fields is particularly highly

    sought after.

Networking is a way of life

    San Francisco intentionally blurs the

boundaries between work and play, as

    great networking opportunities crop up

    constantly, often without any warning.

    The renowned “meet-up” culture

    combines making meaningful business

    connections with socializing. Our campus

is geographically well placed to take

    advantage of this engrained mentality,

and our own networking events provide

    another valuable springboard into the

    wider business community. Hult San

Francisco students tend to have an

    entrepreneurial mindset and don’t waste

anytime capitalizing on the contacts they

have made; in fact, every year

    partnerships are forged and initiatives

started while studies are still being

    completed.

Have the ears of key players

Student participants in the CEO track

    Students get the opportunity to

    collaborate with companies like

    General Electric, Starbucks, LinkedIn,

Twitter, NASA, and Fairtrade to devise

    meaningful solutions to actual

    problems. Experiential learning

events such as Hult Heat, have seen

    students present their business ideas

to 17 executive judges, former CEOs

    of Fortune 500 companies, venture

    capitalists, and entrepreneurs.

Connect with companies at ourCareer Open House

The latest annual Career Open House

    California Dreamin’

    Seeking continual intellectual challenges,

    keeping physically fit, and achieving

emotional well-being are all ways of life

in California, and San Francisco is no

different—mind, body and soul are all

    extremely well catered-for here. Sports,

yoga and meditation are considered to

be more than just leisure pursuits, they

are deemed to be vitally important to

    promoting a healthy work environment.

    Whychoose London

    The economic epicenterof Europe

People from almost 200 countries call

London home, and you can hear over

300 languages spoken on its streets.

    Yet, peculiarly British idiosyncrasies

    are openly embraced by this

    incredibly vibrant cultural melting pot,

meaning it doesn’t take long to feel at

    home. Centuries of economic

    success, an established reputation as

a global financial center, and a

    distinguished history of academic

    excellence give London the

    confidence to be creative. Its

    distinctive brand of music, fashion,

art, and film continues to set global

    trends. The city’s business landscape

is as international as the population.

    Over 250 foreign banks have

    branches here, and 588 foreign

companies are listed on the London

Stock Exchange. The world has a very

real stake in London, and London in

    turn thrives on its international

    reputation.

    Limitless career options

Every major industry is represented in

London, offering a huge variety of

    career opportunities. Finance may be

    the sector that most people

    traditionally associate with London,

but the creative industries are really

making their mark on the city’s

    landscape. 70% of Europe’s major

    advertising agencies have offices in

London, and careers in marketing are

    increasingly popular. Over recent

years a vibrant startup scene has

boomed, and it is now the European

leader in the digital and technology

sectors. The world is your oyster

if you choose to work in London.

“ London is one of the few cities in the world that istruly global. As you walk through the streets, you will hear morethan a dozen languages, and meet a broad range of interestingpeople. That is reflected in Hult’s London campus.”

Our campus is at the intersection of London’s academic, creative and financial districts.

Our students have a strong desire to learn from each other.

A perfect balance of contemporaryand traditional style

    Hult’s graduate campus is a

    beautifully converted Georgian

building with views over the historic

Gray’s Inn Gardens, where the city’s

    leading barristers have been based

since 1370. Spread over six floors, theinterior has been transformed into a

    modern stylish study environment,

while the exterior retains all the

    period features you would expect

from a building of this age. An

    open-plan atrium, event space, bright

    classrooms, and 16 breakout rooms

are just some of the fantastic facilities

that students can take advantage of.

The roof deck and courtyard where

    you can enjoy an in-between-lectures

Everything you could need righton your doorstep

    Our campus borders the academic

    heartland of Bloomsbury, which has

    the highest concentration of

    universities in London, and Holborn,

    a global media, marketing, and

advertising hub. The financial districtis a short distance away, and if you

head eastwards, you hit Tech City,

    Europe’s largest startup cluster

    centered around Old Street. You’re

also in walking distance of Covent

    Garden’s theaters, Oxford Street’s

    shopping, and Soho’s nightlife.

Giving you access to businesspeople at the top of their game

    During class time and through

    campus-organized events, we aim to

    give our students every possible

opportunity to meet people at the top

of their professions and engage in

real-world business issues. Procter &Gamble, PwC, Barclays, Burberry,

Mars, and BSkyB were just some of

the 120 companies who shared their

    business insights with our MBA

    graduates last year. Our regular

    industry panel events see contentious

    business issues debated live by

leaders from the likes of Barclays,

Salesforce, PwC and Google in front

of audiences made up from the

    student body and local business

    people.
