How to Schedule Your Posts at Optimal Times

(A Hootsuite Tutorial)

Hootsuite is a social

media tool

that allows you to

schedule

your social media posts

on certain dates and

times of the day.

It makes it possible for

you to

prepare a week’s worth,

or even a month’s worth

of posts ahead of

time.

It’s a great time-saving

tool.

Now, you also want to make sure

that your posts appear

on your audience’s news feed

at the right time – when

they’re online.

So how will you know

the best time to post?

Now, you’re about to learn how

to schedule your posts on

Hootsuite.

First, you need to

create an account.

You may either use

your Facebook,

Twitter or Google + account

to sign up or log into

Hootsuite.

In this tutorial, I’m going to use

my Twitter account.

To sign up via Twitter, click this:

to the application.

profiles

to Hootsuite, hover your

mouse here:

Let’s say you want to add a

Facebook page.

Enter your Facebook password

here:

Hit continue.

Click the box on the

left side

of the Facebook

page

you want to add.

In this tutorial, I’ll

my Proactive Pro Facebook

page.

Click this:

The Facebook page has now been added.

Now, let’s schedule some

posts.

Go to the dashboard.

Hover your mouse pointer

here:

You will see this:

Now, you must choose

the social media profile

where you want your

post to appear.

(You can choose more

than one.)

To do that, click these:

Write your message here:

Let’s post a picture with a

quote.

Click this paperclip

icon:

You will see this:

To upload the picture, you can either

drag the picture to the

area

or click the blue text in

the box:

For this tutorial, let’s click the blue

text.

This will appear:

Choose the picture you

want to upload

and click “Open.”

Wait until you see a

thumbnail

of the picture you uploaded.

You can add a link here if

you want:

Now, let’s schedule the

post.

The best time to post on Facebook

to get the most shares is

1:00 p.m.

The best days to post are Thursdays

and Fridays.

Let’s post this on

Thursday at 1:00 p.m.

Click the calendar icon.

You will see this:

Click the date you want

the post

to appear on your profile:

Schedule the time by clicking these:

Click the schedule button:

You will see this when the post has been

scheduled:

You can also use the Auto

Schedule feature

if you intend to post on

the same days and times.

Hover your mouse pointer

on the gear icon on the

left side:

You will see this:

Click “Auto Schedule.”
