How to Deal With Difficult Project Team Members
Even on teams that are performing well, one or more members may become disruptive to the team’s progress…or just make being on the team an unpleasant experience.
As team leaders and team members having some techniques and preparation of how to create a system that will ameliorate this will place the team back on the path toward success, while the team member feels respected and part of the team.
This is assuming you have 1. Reviewed the 7 Steps to High Performance Teams2. Supplied the necessary meeting agenda, done all you can
to facilitate resolution, AND that as a Team-Leader you have the competence and ability to handle the complexity of this team project.

What to DO
1. Return back to the Goal, Roles, and procedures and ensure they are understand, clear and distinct.
2. Return to videos the 7 Steps to High Performance Teams ensure that you have completed those steps.
3. Look for cooperation and the positive side of the behavior and build on that;
4. Try the suggested ideas for ameliorating the negative sides of the behavior;
5. Treat the person as a competent adult due your full respect and attention.
6. When you need to do something about the behavior during the team meeting, refer to the Model for Dealing with Disruptive Behavior during the Team Meeting for how best to proceed
