EXPERIENTIAL OPTIONS Home Again 1 Week GAME IDEAS ***Remember that the video runs longer than normal! There’s a game in here, but cut it if you need to make up for that extra time that’s on the video. “Famous Family Trivia”- Find facts about famous families, and have students guess who the family is based on hints. You could even offer multiple choice. (e.g. This famous family is from Gary, Indiana and is known for their pop music stardom. Answer: The Jackson family) Family Mix-up - Call out various family scenarios and numbers of students, and have students cluster up to find others who have the same family dynamics. If students aren’t able to cluster up, then they’re out. Repeat until there are two students left, and deem them “Family Mix-up” winners. (E.g. Find 6 other students who have the same number of siblings as you.) AESTHETICS/PRE-EXPERIENCE/SOCIAL MEDIA ACTIVITY Use the song “Carry on Wayward Son” By Kansas and/or “Should I Stay or Should I go” by The Clash (ties into the younger brother in the story leaving) Instagram pictures of your family to #switchlc, #switchhomeagain, #homeagain Instagram pictures of your home to #switchlc, #switchhomeagain, #homeagain During Christmas break, there will be multiple promotional videos that will be available. Have your students share them on social media throughout their Christmas break (1 per week).
