A forum where students can make a difference!

A group of students who work together for the common good of everyone at HMS.

A place where your voice can be heard.

An opportunity to help the community.

An alternative to Detention, Sports or Academic help.

Being a member of Student Council….

Means that you are

responsible. You come to all meetings.

If you miss a meeting; you have told Mrs. Steger or Mrs. Durni and you have a valid excuse.

If you have 3 unexcused absences, you will be asked to

leave Student Council.

What’s next?

1. Make sure that you have signed the Attendance Sheet for today.

2. Our next three meetings will be on Mondays after school:

Monday, 9/21Monday, 9/28Monday, 10/5

Why, you may ask….

We are preparing for our 1st Student Council sponsored

event:

“People 1st”

What is ? A 3 day workshop for 6th graders about

differences in people.Each workshop will be held during 8th period.Student Council members will be trained in

how to run the workshop.Student Council members will sign up to assist

in the workshops for 1 day only.There will also be a Spirit Week. Spirit Week will be Monday - Friday, 10/5-10/8The workshops will be on 10/6, 10/7 and 10/8 (That is Day 4, Day 1, and Day 2)Training will take place after school during the

next 3 meetings. You must attend all meetings to assist in running the workshops.

How Do I Stay Informed? You can always stop in and see Mrs. Durni in

Room 207 or Mrs. Steger in Room 215BAll information will also be kept on the

Student Council Website
