Purpose of the Analysis
Common/complementary industry characteristics
Common/complementary workforce characteristics
Spatial relationships across boundaries that facilitate joint activity
Secondary analysis to sharpen primary research
![Page 4: Highlights of Analysis of Employment and Labor Force Data for the Southeastern Massachusetts Region](https://reader033.vdocuments.mx/reader033/viewer/2022042822/5681680e550346895ddd97b0/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Selected Findings
1. Blurring of distinct employment patterns as jobs have suburbanized
2. Significant cross-border commuting indicated by regional commuting patterns
3. Mobility problems for workers without vehicles indicated by low use of public transportation
![Page 5: Highlights of Analysis of Employment and Labor Force Data for the Southeastern Massachusetts Region](https://reader033.vdocuments.mx/reader033/viewer/2022042822/5681680e550346895ddd97b0/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Selected Findings
4. Increasing employment concentrations and net worker inflows along cross-cutting highway corridors
5. Increasing service and trade sector domination across the region
6. Similar primary industry structures, with the exception of manufacturing and financial services
![Page 6: Highlights of Analysis of Employment and Labor Force Data for the Southeastern Massachusetts Region](https://reader033.vdocuments.mx/reader033/viewer/2022042822/5681680e550346895ddd97b0/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Selected Findings
6. Continued concentration of service and manufacturing employment in a few employment centers, but with manufacturing employment becoming more dispersed; more even distribution of trade employment
7. Clustering of special needs populations in sets of adjacent and nearby communities, often cutting across WIA boundaries
![Page 7: Highlights of Analysis of Employment and Labor Force Data for the Southeastern Massachusetts Region](https://reader033.vdocuments.mx/reader033/viewer/2022042822/5681680e550346895ddd97b0/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
