Term 2 planning

I will phone each of you tomorrow to consult with you regarding the plans

for our school to move into phase one next week. Please note – we will

remain in phase one until I receive further notice from the Department of

Education.

Some key information for you to know

Our school is ready to move into phase 1 which will see each student attend

school 1 day a week and undertaking learning at home on the other 4 days.

Families who need to send their children to school because they are

essential workers can continue to do so.

All students will be undertaking the same unit of work whether they are

learning at school or at home. We will continue to provide learning support

to all families and students.

Learning from home will remain an integral component of the phased return

to face-to-face teaching. When your child attends school, we will supervise

their learning, do some targeted reading sessions and complete part of the

History unit with them. They will need to bring their learning crate/box to

school on the day that they attend school.

Enhanced cleaning – our school will continue to receive the daily morning

enhanced clean that was occurring at the end of term 1. The school has

received an additional cleaning allocation to be undertaken during the day

from 11.30 – 12.30 and from 2-3pm. During this time, toilets, hand basins,

stairwell rails, external seating and tables will be cleaned.

Hygiene - All students and staff will wash their hands prior to entering the

classroom, prior to and after eating and after toileting. Hand sanitizer will

also be in the classroom for students to use as teachers deem necessary.

Visitors – No visitors are permitted at our school. Joss contractors are able to

come although they will need to answer some questions regarding their

recent travel and contacts. All parents will need to continue to practise social distancing practises.

This means dropping children off at the gate and not entering as well as refraining from having social

gatherings outside the school.

Changes to daily timetable for term 2 from week 3 - School will begin at 9am and conclude at 3pm.

Teachers will be onsite from 8.15am – 3.30pm. Those students who travel by bus will arrive as per the

bus timetable. Any other students attending school should not arrive at school before 8.45am.

This is important as we need the school clean to be completed prior to students arriving in the

mornings.
