FUTURE TRENDS FOR INCREASING PRODUCTION IN COAL SECTOR: Production growth envisaged from 06-07 level is

148 million tonns in XI plan (2011-12) i.e. 47% & further 141 million tonns in XII Plan (2016-17)

CONCLUSION

Application of high-end technology equipment in conjunction with efficient production practices thus appears to be the requirement and future trend of Indian surface mining sector. The focus in indigenous sector is on increasing the overall configuration & efficiency of HEMM by beginning of the introduction of the most modern and fully mechanized equipments. There is huge potential for rapid introduction of these equipments, which will dramatically increase required production, productivity and safety of existing surface mining operations in the years to come.
