Breakthrough Degree Models – Why?

One-size-fits-all instruction is only effective for aminority of students (Bloom, 1984)

Very few institutions nationally enroll and graduate

high percentages of Pell-eligible students (EducationTrust, 2012)

Institutions feel locked in to the status quo(National Center for Public Policy and HigherEducation, 2008)

Online programs are exploding … but their efficacy is

doubted (Community College Research Center, 2011)

Too few innovat ive models exist

that combine affordability, access, and quality
