AUTOMATIC LIST SETUPFor proper operation, make sure that chapter INITIAL SETUP has been read and needed steps have been performed.

To turn ON/OFF AUTO LIST press the AUTO LIST function key in the main screen.

When ON, the AUTO LIST automatically starts to operate when 10 knots is reached. The AUTO LIST indication then turns from grey to black indicating that it is in operation.

AUTO LIST also de-activates when the speed drops below 8 knots. When de-activated the AUTO LIST indication is turned grey indicating that it is on hold until next time speed is increased again. When speed drops below de-activation, the interceptors are adjusted to neutral position (port and starboard Interceptors on equal position).

At speeds below 8 knots, the screen shows measured(actual) List angle. The captain can adjust the Interceptors manually if desired.

At speeds above 10 knots, the screen shows the target list angle “SET LIST” instead of measured list angle.

Normally SET LIST should be 0.0°, however the SET LIST can be adjusted up to 4° to each side by pressing the LIST keys if for any reason the captain desires to run with a list angle other than 0.

The SET LIST automatically switches back to 0.0° if the speed drops below 4 knots. After a turn, SET LIST will also switch back to 0.0° to make sure that the vessel runs even keel.

Control panel settings for AUTOMATIC LIST.

The sensitivity of AUTO LIST can be adjusted from -10 to 10.

Default setting is 0 and this will work good on most vessels. A bigger vessel (over 80 ft) with a longer roll period can generally use a higher sensitivity for faster AUTO LIST operation.

If, when running in calm water conditions, the vessel starts to roll back and forth the sensitivity may be set too high. Then lower the sensitivity for a slower operation.

NOTE!

The TRIM and LIST angle calibration will effect the functionality of AUTO LIST. See chapter Initial Setup.

COORDINATED TURN SETUPCOORDINATED TURN is used for automatic control of the heel angle during turns in semi-planing and planing speeds for best onboard comfort, best radius of turn or for aggressive manoeuvring (small turning radius). Based on vessel speed and current rudder position, the Interceptors are deployed/retracted according to an adjustable gain curve.

The COORDINATED TURN function requires a rudder signal.

To setup a rudder input signal see chapter RUDDER INPUT SIGNAL.

NOTE!

?"@#$&* J@@#KQ?<K"#QX<"Zsee chapter AUTOMATIC TRIM SETUP.

Before the COORDINATED TURN gain curve is programmed, a sea trial must be performed. The vessel’s turning and heel characteristics must be measured over the entire vessel speed range.

Setting up a COORDINATED TURN curve for the vessel.

For best result, run the vessel with constant throttle. Find calm seas, deep water and no tide which can effect the ves-sel.

1. Cruise at a speed of 10 knots.

AUTOMATIC TRIM CONTROL shall be turned ON (if available).

COORDINATED TURN CONTROL shall be turned OFF. 2. Turn rudder to FULL PORT.

3. Use the LIST keys to adjust to desired heel angle or desired turning radius. The COORDINATED TURN gain curve can be programmed to compensate for either positive heel (normal) or negative heel for vessels tend-ing to lean outwards when turning.

ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL SETUPFor proper operation, make sure that chapter INITIAL SETUP has been read and needed steps have been performed.

? J ?J}<?J}<from factory with standard parameters.

Control panel settings for ACTIVE

Normally PITCH and ROLL CONTROL should be ON.

~ If strongest possible pitch damping is preferred, turn OFF ROLL CON-TROL or increase PITCH DAMPING SENSITIVITY.

~ If strongest possible roll damping is preferred, turn OFF PITCH CON-TROL or increase ROLL DAMPING SENSITIVITY.

The pitch or roll sensitivity can be adjusted from -10 to +10. A low sensitivity will make the system react more slowly to vessel movements and a high sensi-tivity enables faster reactions.

NOTE!

The TRIM and LIST angle calibration will effect the functionality of ACTIVE. See chapter Trim and List Angle Calibra-tion.

The ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL will automatically dampen pitch and roll motions to compensate for induced motions caused by waves.

To turn ON/OFF ACTIVE press the ACTIVE function key in the main screen.

When ACTIVE is ON, the Interceptors will start to dampen the vessel motions.

Recommended use:

 Calm seas:

AUTO LIST turned ON

ACTIVE turned OFF

Read also chapter “Automatic List Control”.

~ Medium and Rough Seas:

AUTO LIST turned ON

ACTIVE turned ON

With AUTO LIST ON and ACTIVE ON the system will strive to keep the vessel on even keel. This may result in less roll damping because part of the force is used to keep the vessel even keel.

For catamaran hulls it is recommended to have AUTO LIST OFF when ACTIVE is ON.

Read also chapter “Automatic List Control”.
