Expectations

Students are required to complete the coursework within the same semester of enrollment.

Students are responsible for checking their daily progress and staying on track with the individual assignment

calendar.

Only one course is recommended to be taken at a time. The student’s time for course completion may not

extend beyond 18 weeks or end of semester. In order to remain in the course, satisfactory progress must be

demonstrated.

If a Standards of Learning End of Course Test is Required (EOCT), the testing coordinator will be notified and the

student will be scheduled accordingly. Students are evaluated and credited once all course completion

objectives are met. A passing grade of 70% or greater is required for each completion of each course.

Importance of Time Commitment/ Unfinished Assignments

To receive credit, students must be 100% complete with the course. Students should pace themselves accordingly and dedicate at least 5-8 hours outside of school weekly to their EDGENUITY course. The EDGENUITY teacher will provide a list of wireless access locations. Our local Henrico libraries welcome quiet, courteous, well-behaved EDGENUITY students.

Students are encouraged to attend their EDGENUITY course on a regular basis under teacher supervision. Although the program is accessible outside of school, student attendance in the EDGENUITY Classroom or the “EDGENUITY Academic Advancement Center” is required.

Notebook Grade

All students are required to maintain a notebook for each EDGENUITY course taken. The EDGENUITY teacher will evaluate and assess a notebook score periodically based on a defined note-keeping rubric based on the Cornell Methodology.

The teacher will post the Notebook check dates in advance per marking period. Proper note-taking should occur daily for all lessons. Notebook pages should be dated and/or numbered with lesson headings. The EDGENUITY teacher will offer a best practice note taking format.

EDGENUITY Coursework Outside of Regular School Schedule

In addition to required attendance in their school class, students are STRONGLY encouraged to work from home. Students may work on the following course sections from home: vocabulary, lectures, labs, essays and online content. Most tests and all exams will be supervised by an

EDGENUITY instructor.

To be Successful: 1. Bring your Laptop and Charger daily. 2. Attend class daily and be on time ! 3. Use only the Edgenuity program while in

the Academic Advancement Center (Credit Recovery Classroom).
