C. Reason

(1) Issueswiththe835-54(P)spinnerassemblyontheMooneyM20()applicationswerepreviouslyaddressedinHartzellServiceBulletinHC-SB-61-311.

(a) TheD-5769-1(P)metalspinnerdome(withnoforwardbulkhead)inthe 835-54(P)spinnerassemblyhadin-servicecrackingandseparationevents, causing a high replacement rate.

(b) Ametalspinnerdome,P/N102965(P),withabondedfrontsupport,wasdesignedtosupersedetheD-5769-1(P)inthe835-54(P)spinnerassembly.

(c) TheD-5769-1(P)metalspinnerdomecannotbeconvertedtothe102965(P)metalspinnerdome.The102963installableforwardbulkheadandthe102987spacersweredesignedtoachievebetterstabilityfortheD-5769-1(P)metalspinnerdome.

(d) The102965(P)metalspinnerdomewithbondedfrontsupporthadin-servicecrackingeventsaspartofthe835-54(P)spinnerassembly.

(e) The103585spinnerassemblywasreleasedasadesignimprovementandasasupersedureinapprovedapplicationstoallvariationsofthe835-54(P)spinnerassembly.RefertoFigure4.

1 Withahandplacedoneachoppositesideofthespinnerdome,carefullytrytoshiftthedomefromsidetoside.

a Ifthespinnerdomeshiftseasily,thespinnerdomedoesnothaveasnugfitonthecylinder.

1) Removethespinnerdome.





2) The103582()compositespinnerdomeismanufacturedwithpiecesofUHMWtapeattachedtotheinsidediameterofthebondedfrontsupport.ApplyoneormoreadditionallayersofB-6654-100-1UHMWtapetotheinsidediameterofthebondedfrontsupportandreturntosection3.D.(5)tocheckthefit.

b Ifthespinnerdomedoesnotshift,thespinnerdomehasasnugfitonthecylinder.

(6) Using14eachoftheB-3860-10LdimpledwashersandoftheB-3867-27210-32screws,installthe103582()compositespinnerdomeinaccordancewithHartzellPropellerOwner’sManual115N(61-00-15).Makesurethatthescrewsdonotextendmorethanthreethreadspasttheadapterringnutplates.RefertoFigure7.

(7) Using4eachoftheB-3860-10LdimpledwashersandtheB-3867-27210-32screws,installthe103583()or104001()compositefillerplatesfromtheouterdiameteroftheadapterringintothenewlydrilledholesateachbladecutoutofthedome.Makesurethatthescrewsdonotextendmorethanthreethreadspasttheadapterringnutplates.RefertoFigure7.

(8) Whenthe103585()spinnerassemblyisinstalled,makeanentryinthepropellerlogbookindicatingmodificationoftheadapterring(whereapplicable)andinstallationofthespinnerassemblyinaccordancewithandasterminating action for this Alert Service Bulletin.

C. ThiswarrantyprogramwillexpireonFebruary29,2012.

2. Warranty ProgramA. Hartzellwillprovidethefollowingforapplicableinstallationsatnochargewhen

requestedinaccordancewiththisAppendix:

(1) 103877()kitforusewithaserviceableC-4549-1(P)metaladapterringtomakethe103585()spinnerassembly.

(a) The103585()spinnerassembly,includingthe103584(P)metaladapterring,maybeprovidediftheC-4549-1(P)metaladapterringisnotserviceable.Additionaldocumentationmayberequired.

B. OrderAdministration(1) TheOrderForminthisAppendixmustbecompletedandsenttoHartzell

ProductSupportasarequestforthecomponents.(a) ThecompletedOrderFormmaybesentbyfaxore-mailtoHartzell

ProductSupport.(2) HartzellProductSupportwillreviewtheOrderFormtoverifyapplicabilityforthe

(a) Whenreturningtherequiredspinnerportion,includethewarrantyreferencenumberprovidedbyHartzellPropellerProductSupportand/orthe aircraft registration number.

(b) Iftherequiredportionisnotreceivedwithin6monthsfromreceiptofthereplacementitem(s),thereceiverwillbechargedforthefulllistpriceoftheordereditems.Creditcardinformationorpurchaseordernumbermustbeprovided.

(c) Ifthecompletespinnerisreceivedinsteadofonlytherequiredportion,withoutspecificrequestfromHartzellPropellerProductSupport,HartzellPropellerwillchargethecostofshippingtothecreditcardorpurchaseorderprovided.
