Carol: More Than Just a Pharmacy, a Destination Where Shop-ping is the Best Medicine

Grottini Retail Environments partners in a new project in the Dominican Republic: Farmacia Carol; not just a “pharmacy” but an amazing experience… where the best medicine is shopping!

Grottini Retail Environments adds a new route, this time heading for the Dominican Republic and for a new project dedicated to a new store just opened by the major and renowned chain in the pharmaceutical sector, Farmacia Carol. Grottini Retail Environments closely worked side byside with Nick Giammarco of G.H.A. a major American -Canadian design firm, for the store fixture engineering, project execution and graphic.A large-scale building, as for height and width, covering a 500 sm area: here’s the Farmacia Carol, an architectural and structural concept of contemporary and unconventional style, conveying strength, sim-plicity and creativity. A project that aims at creating a professional & friendly retail environment: the choice of the concept, the division of space, materials and colors are all in line with the target and the offer: not only pharmaceuticals but also cosmetics, gifts and stationery, food and drinks. All the different materials are in harmony, their peculiarities enhancing this space where design and ma-terial, aesthetic and functional performance meet.Color is focal as well, whether it is a comforting white or green or the exuberant tone of the "red entry", and it spreads all over little details like the eye-catching colored bag bean chairs. Lighting, too, supports the message, brand and experience: Through lighting, the ceiling becomes a sophisticated and complex structure, capturing the geometry of both steel lines, shadows and light. The environment conveys ease to the consumer, yet presents animation and movement through visual elements and fixtures, such as large containers, tables and booths. The environment further speaks to the consumer through graphics and imagery, delivering both information and inspiration on a parade of panels, suspended and on walls.

What’s in a QR?

What’s the future of QR codes in Communication and Marketing? Grottini Lab leverages their potential to capture the consumer for a more integrated and immersive shopping experience.

Once upon a time…. in 1994 in Japan, Denso Wave had an idea: QR codes (QR stands for Quick Respon-se) would solve the need of a code with quickly decodable contents and create easier warehouse inventory management.

Today we see QR codes more and more frequently, almost everywhere we look; a peaceful but ongoing invasion. These 2-D barcodes are usually connected to a multi-media content, and may contain a wide variety of information: a web address or email, a text, a business card or a video link or even a map.

In an article on mashable.com, Ekaterina Walter, social media strategist at Intel, poses challenging que-stions about the future of QR codes: will the public acquire a QR code awareness or will QR codes end up being a one trick pony for promotional campaigns? The trend toward an increasing "personal technology" suggests that the potential is there, but the question remains: Will market players be able to fully exploit all opportunities QR codes have to offer? If so, then, what to do to drive consumers from their comfort zones and create incentives try the codes?

The article also presents some of the most creative, fun and interesting "QR code marketing" examples, all clear examples of the potential of this powerful tool to enrich the product experience, and offer the consu-mer a tangible added value: the value of reinventing and enhancing the Shopping Experience, meeting consumers’ desires, and providing real-time information while engaging in social competition.

Grottini Retail Environments hasn’t missed this potential opportunity. Our Grottini Lab division speciali-zes in cutting edge technology solutions for dynamic communication applied to retail. We already use QR codes to transform and innovate the traditional shopping experience in our retail projects. Through incre-asingly creative and sophisticated applications and technologies, Grottini Lab turns QR codes into tools of communication, information and analysis, with goals that can be commercial, strategic or simply entertai-ning. With QR codes, Grottini Lab is fostering involvement and interaction with consumers.

Run&challenge!

New running challenges! Paolo Bravi (President of Running Team Grottini Team Mezzofondo Recanati) is one of the 9 athletes representing Italy at the upcoming 100 km. World and European Championship.

The new year begins with excitement for Grottini Retail Environments. Paolo Bravi, athlete and president of the Grottini Team Mezzofondo Recanati, is among the athletes who have been selected by the Ultrama-rathon Federal Technical Sector, to represent Italy at the upcoming 100 km. World and European Cham-pionship race; also on the list is the current world champion, Giorgio Calcaterra. The race will be held on April the 22nd in Seregno, Italy, and will assign the individual male and female title, and host the Natio-nal teams for the European and World Cup.

Paolo is an acclaimed and decorated marathon runner known well beyond his region. An engineer, Paolo has also been president of the Grottini Team Mezzofondo Recanati since December 2010. The running association was created in 2002, thanks to the commitment of founding members Paolo Bravi and Grazia-no Morelli, and was designed to inspire Grottini’s home city of Porto Recanati with the passion and prac-tice of athletics. The group shares a philosophy with Grottini Retail Environments, making this spon-sorship and partnership a natural fit. Through team spirit and steady growth, the group was able to achie-ve their goals and is considered a landmark in the field of community running and athletics.

Paolo Bravi, was excited when learning of his selection: "Finally I’ve reached a goal I sought for so long; I owe a lot to all those who have taught me in sport and in life, both in past and present times". Now the hard part; to train and do the qualifying marathons along with his team-mates: The Ravenna, Bracciano and Trasimeno Lakes and Rome Marathons too.

Our warmest wishes of Good Luck to Paolo!See all Grottini Team records on www.mezzofondorecanati.it
