Lost power because:• Depended on aristocrats during war• Aristocrats wanted more power• Overthrew king

Lost power because:• Ignored needs of the people• Unpopular laws• Enforced with the army• Rich got richer• Eventually the poor turned to army leaders

Seized power illegally, usually by force.
Lost power because:• Ruled harshly• Ignored the needs of the people• People forced the tyrant out
