The History behind The Grand Teton*Grand Teton was establish on February 26 , 1929 ( This park only included The Teton Range & at the base of the mountain six lakes) by the congress and President Calvin Coolidge as well as September 14,1950 by the congress and President Harry S. Truman creating a “New” park adding the Jackson Hole National Monument which was created by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1943.*Creating the 309,994 acre park we know today

Well Grand Teton actually got named after a Native American Tribe “Teton Sioux”

*The Grand Tetons were formed due to plate movement in the Teton .They were formed , caused by plate movement in the Teton plates around 8 million years ago. When the surface collided, the mountains shot out of the surface.
