-This week the students covered the Genre and Selection discussion for Les-
son # 6 “Off and Running” from the Journey’s Textbook.
-Bud not Buddy Chapter 6-7 was covered as well with CW and HW in their
novel copybook.
Reminder:
Please make sure that your child is practicing their display roles and songs.
We will proceed practicing in classes next week and your child should be
prepared.
Don’t forget to check the blog for updated materials.
Language:
This weeks students finished Complex Sentences in Grammar. They started
their first persuasive writing.

Last week my young scientists explored matter and its differ-
ent types and properties .
This week my young scientists will have an interesting lab visit
about changes that happen to water.
Also my young scientists are going to be working on searching for
a hypothesis for their science fair questions.

Dear parents and students,
We completed the lesson on “Early Herders and Farmers’. Students an-alyzed the difference between the Neolithic and Paleolithic periods.
We recognized how Early Man went from a food collector to a food pro-ducer. Students identified plants and animals early people domesticated, and how agriculture changed human societies.
For the week ahead, we will start a new lesson ‘Early Settlements and Cities’. Students will explore how societies became more complex in early farming settlements. We will examine the effects of trading in Jericho, and analyze the rise of the first city- states in Mesopotamia.
