Setup: 1) Shuffle all 100 cards together. 2) Remove some cards and put them in the box for now. Remove 35 cards for 2 players, 25 cards for 3 players, and 15 cards for 4 players. 3) Deal a starting hand of 3 cards to each player. 4) Make comments about how cute the pups in your hand are! 5) Start playing! Gameplay: 1) Draw Pups: To start each round, deal cards face-up in a row in the middle of the table. One for each player, plus one extra card (Ex: 4, for a 3-player game). 2) Pick Pups: Each player chooses a card from their hand and places it face-down in front of them. When everyone has chosen, reveal the cards! Turn order for the round will start with the player that chose the highest numbered pup, then the next-highest, all the way down to the lowest number. The pups are numbered 00-99, so there can be no ties. 2a) Play Your Pup: On your turn, place your chosen card face-up in front of you, adding it to a matching group of pups (same breed / image), if possible. Then, perform the card’s ability - the text on the top half of the card. 2b) Take a Pup: After using your pup’s ability, select one of the cards from the row, and add it to your hand. You’re all done, now it’s time for the next player! 3) Bonus Pup: After each player has taken thieir turn, one card will be left in the center row. The player who went last (lowest # pup) puts it into play, adding it to a matching group of pups if possible, but does not use its card ability. It’s just a free bonus pup! 4) New Round: Start a new round with Step 1: Draw Pups. If a round starts where there are not enough cards to make the whole row(ex: 4 cards left in the deck, in a 5 player game), it will be the final round. In the final round, Steps 1 and 2b are skipped. Each player chooses and plays a pup as normal, but no new pup will be added to their hand. If a player needs to bury bones after the deck is empty, use the cards removed during setup. If there aren’t enough cards there, they can use the cards in their hand. If there still aren’t enough, they only bury as many as they can. 94 Finest Doggo Joins any group, and counts as that type of pup. a bone here. Bury a bone here. 5) Game-End Bonuses: Each group of pups uses its Game-End Bonus, which will let them upgrade some of their buried bones! All pups of the same type have the same Game-End Bonus, so it doesn’t matter which one is on top.

6) Winner: Total up the value of all your bones. Highest score wins! Ties are broken by a growling contest. (Really though, everyone is a winner because they got to play with cute pups.)

Game Terms and Special Things

Bury a Bone: When you bury a bone, you take the top card of the draw deck, and tuck it face-down under the pile of pups, showing a value of (1).

Upgrade a Bone ( ): To upgrade a bone, rotate it 90 degrees clockwise so that its value increases one step. 1 to 3, 3 to 6, or 6 to 10. If you would upgrade a bone that is already at 10, do nothing instead.

Symbols ( , etc ): Each breed of pup has its own symbol. When reading an ability, replace the symbol with the number of pups you have in that group, including the one you just played.

Move a Bone: Move a bone card from one group to another group. Keep its value the same.

90-99 “Doggos”: These pups, which are totally dogs and not at all anything else being sneaky, are wild. When you place one of them onto your board, you can add it to any group, tucked in the back so it doesn’t hide the Game-End Bonus for that pup type. The wild Doggo symbol counts as whatever type the group is, for effects and Game-End Bonuses. Note: If you play one as your very fi rst pup, it temporarily creates its own group. The next pup you play must go on top of that group.

Effects are Optional: If you don’t want to (or can’t) do a whole effect, you don’t have to. Usually you want to, but sometimes it makes sense to skip part or all of an effect for some reason.

Game Example: You choose to play the Friendly Husky. (What a cutie!)

(1)(1) Add him to your existing group of Huskies. Then, perform the effect.

(2)(2) “Bury a bone here”: tuck the top card of the deck face-down as a 1-value bone.

(3) (3) “ one bone at each of different groups”: Choose 2 different groups of pups (a lone pup still counts as a group!), because 2 is the number of Huskies you now have. At each of those groups, rotate one bone clockwise to increase its value.
