The unthinkable scandal of
industrial wind turbines at Mont-Saint-Michelis becoming a reality!
The tribunals have found in favour of the developers in respect of the industrial wind turbines at Argouges.The Council of State lawyers cons idered that there was no case for appealing to the Supreme Court.
We have had no response from the French President or from the Minister for Culture.
The wind turbines will be able to be installed.
The Prefect has refused to grant planning permission for the wind turbine projects at Baguer-Pican, La Boussac and St-Ouen-la-Rouërie, but the developer has appealed to the tribunal. In view of the p

The wind turbines which will be installed at Tremblay will be 140 metres high. They will be higher than the Archangel St Michel which dominates the Mont-St-Michel ( see dia gram).
With the 3 wind turbines at Argouges and 5 wind turbines at St-Ouen, there will be 12 wind turbines visible from the Mont-St-Michel in the same field of vision, without any visual obstru
flashing wind turbines and Google Earth document).
With the 6 wind turbines at Baguer-Pican and La Boussac further to the west, and the 13 wind turbines at Bazouges and Marcillé, there will be 31 wind turbines that we know of that
the bay of the Mont-St-Michel.
The developers claim that the wind turbines will only be « slightly visible ». We know what that means.
The impact on the landscape in the Brittany Marches will be considerable:
there are many monuments of historic importance as well as the Mont-St-Michel,
many major footpaths criss-cross the countryside, including the famous Way of St James from Santiago de Compostela to the Mont-St-Michel,
from the hills of Mortrain in the Normandy-Maine Regional Natural Park, there will be total co-visibility between the wind turbines and the Mont-St-Michel.
