On Wednesday 17th May our Glee Club had their second official performance for parents, when they put on the show ‘Alice The Musical’. Our Glee Club is made up of a mixture of children from Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. This is a voluntary after school club which meets on a Friday from 3.00pm to 4.15pm. The Glee Club is run by Rebecca Lindberg from the ‘Topline Performing Arts School’, Mrs Loughran, Miss Tingle and Mr Griffiths. This was a very challenging show for primary school children, but our Glee Club pulled it off with flying colours. The costumes and staging were first class. The acting and singing was simply wonderful. Our thanks go to all of the adults who helped to put this show on the road, but most of all, a huge WELL DONE to all of the young performers, you were awesome! GLEE CLUB IN WONDERLAND On Wednesday 22nd March, our PTA held their annual sponsored event. The children took part in a number of different challenges, depending on which year group they were in. As a result of this event, you have raised a massive £2,858, which will be used to benefit your children in our school. Thank you very much for your amazing generosity. Regarding the children’s prizes, we are awaiting the delivery of one last order. We anticipate that prizes will be given out during the week commencing 5th June. SCHOOL CLOSURE

Please note that our school will be closed to

children on the following day, as the school

site is being used as a polling station for

the Parliamentary General Election:

THURSDAY 8TH JUNE

We are sorry for any inconvenience that this

may cause, but it is beyond our control!

This month our Year 2 and Year 6 children have

completed the national tests (SATs) in Reading,

Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar and Maths. Their

attitude and effort throughout the tests was first

class. The Y6 children will receive their results on

4th July as their papers are marked externally. Our

Year 2 children’s papers are marked internally and

the results help to inform our Teacher Assessments.

Our thanks go to the Year 2 and Year 6 teaching

teams who have supported the children so brilliantly

throughout the year. Fingers crossed that the

children get the results that they so richly deserve!

The children in Year 3 have been studying Roald Dahl’s

‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ in their English

lessons. To this end, on Thursday 25th May, all of the

children from Year 3 went to York to visit the York's

Chocolate Story attraction. They learned all about the

history of chocolate, from the Mayans, to the

Rowntree brothers, to the present day. They even got

to try their hand at being chocolatiers, making lickable

wallpaper and a chocolate lolly. Finally, everybody

learned how to be a real chocolate taster, using their

ears, nose and tastebuds. Everyone had a truly

‘choctastic’ time, including the adults!
