Located near Tbilisi Sea, the “History of Georgia” monument was created by the Georgian sculptor Zurab Konstantines dze Tsereteli

The monument is located on a hill overlooking Tbilisi Sea, about 20 minutes drive from the city center

The hill that the Chronicle of Georgia is on is right next to the Tbilisi Sea. The hilltop location features fantastic views of the northern end of Tbilisi and of the Tbilisi Sea, which is not really a "sea" at all, nor even a real lake, but a reservoir

The Chronicle of Georgia is not a very popular spot. There’s no information about it in any guidebook I’ve seen, and information online is scarce.

The monument chronicles Georgian history. The top part of the 30 meter tall columns feature kings, queens and heroes and the bottom part depict stories from the life of Christ

St. Nino has become one of the most venerated saints of the Georgian Orthodox Church and her attribute, a grapevine cross, is a symbol of Georgian Christianity

The Chronicle of Georgia--a massive work of sculpture the locals also refer to as "Stonehenge". It was started in 1985 by Zurab Tsereteli, and remains partially incomplete.

Tsereteli’s bronze sculpture of St. George the Victorious is on the north lawn of the United Nations Headquarters in New York; his 175-ton sculpture entitled “To The Struggle Against World Terrorism” is in Bayonne, New Jersey; the latter consists of a 100-foot tall rectangular bronze block with a fissure down the middle in which a teardrop in memory of those whose lives were lost is suspended; nine pathways lead to the 11-sided granite base where names of 9/11 victims as well as victims of the 1993 World Trade Center bombings are engraved.
